Default Any real gain out of 1.8 rockers

just wondering if there is any real gain to switching to 1.8 rockers. Or is it just a waste of time and money.

If you ever plan on doing a cam swap you will need to go back to the 1.7's. IMHO its a waste of money unless you NEVER want to cam it. Most (99%) of the cams recommend the 1.7's

+1 ^^^ Only for someone who will never to a Cam swap ever. Due to the fast ramp rate of most aftermarket camshafts the use of 1.8 rockers is not recommended. If you did choose to do them its probably worth around 10hp

Go with the 1.7's non-adjustables, they will still give you 8-10rwhp and then when you eventually get a cam, and you will, you can reuse them. I just installed HS 1.7's and they are great, I have never had them on any of my previous LSX's and I love them.

You can still pickup 8-10 rwhp just by switching to a full roller rocker? Never herd that before.

more lift and less friction will provide some power gains.

it all depends on your goals.

these days, you can get small cams in the low to mid 22Xs that have near .60" lift, so the need for rockers to make up the lift is not there.

I also didn't realize you could gain that much (8-10hp) from a rocker while keeping the same ratio.

CC claims 10 rwhp from their new 1.7s.

Your never gonna get that kind of power just going to a roller tip. Most of the friction is in the fulcrum pivit point which is already roller in the LSx motor. Full roller is cool and helps keep down valve guide wear with high lift cams, but that claim is just smoke.

It probably also says "gains up to 8-10 rwhp" 1-2 hp falls under the "up to" banner.

If you are going for full bolt on power then get em, but like others said you will need 1.7s if and when you install a bigger cam.
