67 mustang hybrid starts
thanks again jason
I have been considering something like this on a convertible stang of similar year.
What tranny are you running? T56?
This is very exciting. congrats.
I love the thought of an LS in a classic stang!

I have been told that pre 1968 models require the shock towers to be modified as well as steering possibly. Did you run into these issues?

A 289 is 24" wide, and an LS1 is 24.75" wide. Doing an LS1 swap should be no worse than dropping a 351W into a 65-66 Mustang as the 351W is 25" wide and those fit just fine. With the right headers, it ought to plop in place with room to spare.
1967-70 Mustangs would be no problem because they are designed to take an engine that is MUCH wider, and the 71-73 cars were designed to fit a BOSS 429, an LS1 might get lost in there.
Anyway, pics would be cool to see. Somebody post em for this guy!

This is getting me excited!
You will likely get all kinds of responses but to me this is cool and you will have a much better engine than I will eventually do.
Is the suspension stuff expensive? can I ask how much?
