Exclamation WARNING LOTS OF PIC! 370 CI build

As I've posted before I slung 3 rods in the hard running little 346 . Well I'm in the process of having a 370 built and it's currently in the machine shop and should be out sometime next week. Unfortunatley I don't have the money to buy everything I want so as of now it's a budget build and I'll be scraping the money around until I can get better heads, intake, rearend and etc. I'll be learning to clearance all the bearing and etc from my grandpa (We are putting this motor together ourselvs) He has been around the older stuff since the late 60's building Texas outlaw cars and cars for Frank Hawley etc. We are both new to the LS based engines and are always trying new things so everyone enjoy .

Here's a break down of the set-up as of now.
-6.0L block bored .030 to make a 370
-stock crank
-ARP Main stud kit
-Stock Main caps
-Clevite bearings
-Patrick G Spec'd cam (23x/24x .60x/.60x)
-H Beam Rods
-Mahle -2cc Pistons
-ARP Rod bolts
-Hand ported LS6 heads
-LS6 intake
-P&P TB
-1 3/4 Headers
-150 shot (eventually

DAY 1

We got the motor out and looked at all the damage that was actually done to the 346. Nothing was good except the heads which are fixable.

DAY 2

After getting the motor out we took the PCM, Harness, and all that good stuff out. We then took it to the car wash for a good de-greasing (All of the oil soaked the car) It looks a lot better now

We also started porting the heads. Will take bout 3 days to get them finished up and them take them to the machine shop to have the valve job done and milled a little.

Thats the way to loose a motor. Don't know you,but i'm proud of you. When I blew my ls1 the rod put a hole in the block and when we pulled the pistons out two were broke in half. Good times.

DAY 3

The Piston, Rods, and Main Stud Kit came in today at the machine shop. I won't get pictures until later this week when we start putting the motor. I also ordered the Victor Jr from a member on here . Got the passenger side head ported and now it's time to start on the driver side.

Good luck with the rebuild man. I feel your pain, A couple weeks ago i put the #6 rod through the block in my SS while making a Pass. Apparently the stock bottem end didnt like putting out 600/600 to the slicks through the auto. It broke that rod in 4 pieces

Finally! The machine shop has had me on the back burner for a while and lots of things has changed suspension, tires, wheels etc. I'll have to get more pictures tomorrow of all the goodies I'm picking up tomorrow .

I ended up selling my wheels and tires I got from a member on here I never got to show them off . Alwell with this new set-up bigger back wheels/tires are in need so I'm going with Prostars in all four corners with 275/60/15 Mickey Thompsons .

I also traded another member a fourwheeler I had for a 9" and some suspension parts

So here's another list of things and more to come tomorrow afternoon.

-Moser 9" 4.11's
-Strange spool
-31 Spline axles
-Chromoly LCA's
-Adjust. Panhard bar
-BMR Extreme Trq arm.
-10" Pro stars with 275/60/15's
-Victor Jr intake set-up
-4150 style TB

Awesome build...

Good luck on those 1 1/3 headers.. I don't think they will flow enough for that motor...

The exhaust is a little undecided. I think a local is going to buy my pacesetters, that way I can step up to the 1 7/8 . I'm still undecided on running an H-pipe or Y pipe though. And it's either going to be my current magnaflow or bullet

Here's a couple of pictures as promised, but PLENTY more on the way .

Victor Jr, 4150, two 45*'s to the lid set-up.

The Moser 9" and Strange axles

Strange spool

BMR extreme Trq arm, LCA's, Adj. Panhard, rotors, etc.

Also go the windshield cowl cut for the intake set-up to fit, just looks a little messy .
