I want a 1.5x 60ft out of my car... Well I'm trying to get my 60's down a little bit. I have a 6 speed on 325/50/15MT drag radials. Best 60ft to date is a 1.69. Usually around the 1.79-1.70's. I can't just dump the clutch at anything over 5k rpm's, and anything below that the car bogs. So I uually try a quick slip from around 5500-6k. As soon as I feel the car move a few feet I come off the clutch. The car doesn't bog and pulls really well. But I want to get to a 1.5. I've got the car running consitent 7.30's, and would like to see 7.1's or 7.0's(1/8th mile btw).
My suspension consist of BMR full length torque arm set a -2.5, qa1 12 ways in the rear(set on 4), qa1 single adjustable in the front(set on 3), BMR double adjustable LCA's with relocation brackets. I don't have SFC's or a rear anti roll bar yet. Would I pick up enough on my 60ft to justify the price of a roll bar??? Sorry for rambling on, just been searching for a while and haven't found a good straight foward answer.

Switch to a slick. A stick car can't hit a radial to hard or you'll spin (like u said). Stick cars need a soft side wall to absorb the shock. Depending on your rear gear and power that'll decide a 26" or 28" slick. Floor gas and dump the clutch and hold on.

I just don't want the hassel of having to change wheels and tires out everytime I go to the track. This car is about 90% street 10% drag. I would like to slap some
slicks on there for a weekend and she what she'll do. I figure I could shave off 3-4 tenths with them.

Yeah, you need dedicated wheels and slicks. My bolt on car would blow MT 255 50 16 drag radials off the line with anything over 3,000 rpm launch after I got my Textralia Ex0-Skel clutch. Taking a pair of race wheels and tires to the track is no big deal. I change all 4 wheels at the track

. trust me man been there done that you need the slick ..... i did the dr thing when i had my 6spd and it was frustrating and very hard on the drive line.... get to the track early and swap the rims to a slick you'll have much better results ! rev it to 6000 and dump it and hold on

The only way that it "might" help you launch on DR is if you add some ballast to the rear. Trying adding 100-150lbs and see what that does. If my 60fts start to fall off (usually in the heat of the day) I'll add some weight to the back to put more downforce on the rear.

I appreicate all the suggestions guys. But I already race with around 1/2 tank of gas. And I'm not going to add any kind of ballast to the car, that would just slow me down more I believe...I'm just going to find a spare set of wheels and throw some slicks on there.
I've already got a street tire. So I'm just going to go with a dedicated set of slicks. I'm going to run 28/10.50's, should I put them on a 8" or 10" wide wheel?
