If I offered a service (Steering Wheel Recovering) Who would be interested?
Would you be able to wrap a Hurst Sidewinder **** (the one with the button) in black leather? I want it to look stock besides the button - I think it would look great. Seems like the hard part would be cutting the hole for the button.
This is what my factory wheel looks like in my Saab 9-3 and it is so comfortable to drive. If I could get the airbag and radio controls to work in my T/A I'd be buying one right now.

I've been trying to find a new vendor for leather and supplies, let me see what I can come up with.
As far as making the wheel thicker, I'll have to do some experimenting on that one, and a little research...

I'm drooling just thinking about having a wheel like this...

Somehow, they take a plane, round wheel, and add the thumb and finger inserts and make the wheel a little thicker as well. They charge $395, but to me, it's worth it considering your hand is touching it the entire time you drive.
but making an overall thicker wheel could be tricky, but I have a few ideas...

If you're going to be making a small business out of this, you're going to need to show step-by-step real photographed instructions to show how to remove the steering wheel (both the '93-'02 non-audio button one AND the '97-'02 audio button one). Someone like me wouldn't do it, for fear of the airbag going off, without really detailed instructions. And I'd say 60 to 80% of your target market for this business is the person who isn't a do-it-yourselfer who would normally know how to do this.
