Default DIY (homemade) METH kit??? + some meth questions....

Well as some of you know i killed my 70000 mile ls1..... lol Now im broke and cant afford a forged motor so i am going to use a pullout 5.3l and throw some boost at it till i can afford to build a forged 370.

I am going from an sts kit to a front mount GT70 with FMIC setup and want to use meth as my "safety net".....

I was wondering what all is needed to build my own meth kit?

Thinking about using -20* washer fluid.....

How much meth is actually used on a street car? I am at 4000ft above sea level and it gets 100*+ during the summer when i drive the car.... about 7000 miles a year and alot of those miles are hard WOT lol.

Thanks for the help guys!!!!!!!

O ya forgot to mention that i work at Simplot (a fertilizer company) so i have access to alot of different pumps and spray nozzles and hoses and ect......

Hoping i can do it relatively cheap because this is an extreme budget build.... Will only have about $1200 in it pre-meth!

If you only use it as a "safety net", then you don't need it at all and it costs you $0.

you can prolly build a kit pretty cheap, my only concern would be the safety side of it(warning lightes, low pressure ect)

Get a diaphragm pump (go to Alkycontrols site to see which they modify), wire it into a WOT switch and you'll probably be ok (assuming you make at least 4psi at WOT). Not as good as a progressive controller, but better than by button.

I have the stuff off my sts kit but i think the pressure switch is only 1 psi.... because i thought about using it, but 1 psi wouldn't work.....

Thinking it may be easier to just spend the $200 coolingmist kit above......

Probably, the Snow kit is priced well too. You want to make sure you're moving enough air so the vaporized water/meth distributes properly.

Can you use 100% methanol? If you had access to 100% methanol can you make your own mixture? What do you mix it with?

You can make 116 octane with 100% pure WATER, the only benefit to methanol is that is an actual fuel so if you were to have say a 11.5 A/F, if you inject 100% meth and don't change the tune, you will make the mixture more rich, this is why when people are pushing their injectors sometimes they'll spray meth.

so i have another question:

I can control when the meth kicks in by pressure correct? So what if i want it to spray less or more depending on how much boost i am pushing? or will i be fine with meth just kicking in at 6psi to 12-15psi?

Kinda trying to keep this as budget as possible considering the 5.3L im installing will only have like $6-$800 in it. lol

You want budget, eh?

Get some tubing, a hobbs pressure switch, a 12-volt solenoid valve (heck, you can get creative: fuel injector, n2o solenoid, whatever), a washer fluid pump (make sure it creates more pressure than the amount of boost you are running), a spray nozzle, and something to regulate flow (needle valve works great), some wire, and a bottle.

There you go.

Water/meth injection isn't rocket science. I used a setup just like that on my old GTP and worked like a champ. I would fill the reservoir everytime I filled the gas tank.
