Link for the box doesn't work...

Anyone have problems with the ls1 valve cover baffles not clearing the l92 rockers? Ours didnt fit we would need an inch or so spacer. And as far as drilling and tapping the block, what size drill bit are you using before running the tap. My tap started to just chew the insert out and would make new threads.

I just placed my LS1 valve covers on my L92 heads and they fit fine but my heads aren't installed yet so the pushrods aren't pushing the rockers up... Are spacers required...

Edit: Looking at pictures the outside of the cover doesn't look physically different, but maybe they are internally

EDIT: This thread should answer the valve cover question: https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...clearance.html

The Lingenfelter box works as advertised. My LS3 / L92 build has the 58X wheel, LS3 spec cam timing gear, and the stock 2001 f-body PCM. Engine fires and idles like normal. The factory gauge cluster works. The only problem with the unit is that it could use a little more slack in the wires for an f-body build, but that is the only gripe. This seems like a good solution if you don't want to pull the crank and swap the reluctor wheel.

Ok so I have a couple Questions. I have a L92 Engine that has the VVT (obviously) but does NOT have the AFM. I am going to be Using the Linginfelter converter Box for the 58x/4x compatibility.

Which Front Cover/cam sensor do I need (early 1x or a later 4x) Since i am using the converter box can I use either one. If i use the early 1x I just dont plug that portion into the box correct? If I use the later 4x Then use the box.

Which Cam Gear do I need? Are they different for the 1x/4x cams.

Are the Later 4x Cams single bolt? Because I have a Cam that I would like to use and It is 3 bolt.

Thanks

You will have to get the LS2 front cover that puts the cam sensor at the front, because there is no hole for the cam sensor in the back anymore on the newer engines.. You can use your cam sensor from the LS1 though as it is the same for the LS2/LS3.

As for the Cam gear you will need a 4x cam gear. They do come stock from GM with one bolt, but there is also a three bolt 4x version that you can order from GM, here is the part # 12586481.

OK I have a 2000 V6 Camaro and just got an 01 LS6 motor. Is there a swap guide for this conversion. I know I will need an F Body Oil Pan, Front Accessories, and TB...but what else is involved? I need all of the info.
Thanks

What about the coils and starter from an L92 can those be uses for the swap, or are the LS1 coils and starter used?

I have a 6.0L LY6(07) engine for my 99 F-body, I've bought a LS3 intake with a LS2 fuel rails. I've read that I need a conversion kit from Katech to install EV1 injectors on LS3 intake. I bought the LS2 kit but it dont work( 5/16 shorter)... which one I was supposed to buy?

Is it just me or is VVT starting to catch on in the power spotlight? More companies are starting to make performance cams/phaser limiters, etc. I've begun to think that a fully functioning L92 with a cam, decent intake manifold, and a good bit of time on the dyno would make for an awesome combo. VVT is simply amazing from what I've read, allowing you to have nasty -turbo diesel power on the bottom end, and power to the point to where your intake doesn't flow well anymore.

The downside is that you have to make your Fbody think it's a caddy... and your gauge cluster doesn't speak Cadillac I'd love to learn more about the process of swapping in a VVT Gen IV into an Fbody. There's a member on this board who has done just this, into a 96 firebird, and he says its nasty.

It would be the coolest thing ever to find out how to take a complete L92 and swap it in to an Fbody with the Caddy computer.

Default LS1 knock sensors with LS2/3 block???

I have a question regarding using the LS1 knock sensors with the LS2/LS3 block. It says you have to drill and tap 10mm x 1.5 holes to use the LS1 knock sensors.

Where do you drill and tap these holes? Any one have a picture or diagram?
If there is any other solution, let me know.

Thank you!

Why does it seem like the alternative bolt hole should be used for bolting the LS1 motor mounts to the block?
