Could someone PLEASE give me some info on a 1996 japan EXPORT Camaro
Is here anyone who knows anything about the Japan export Camaro's (1996). I know they had different tailights and front fender side marker lights, but was there any other differences. How many were produced, are they collectable? If anyone can give me ANY info on these cars, it is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
This is what I know of regarding the Euro-Spec converted T/A, Camaro's will likely have simliar mods.
The major differences are:
The Trans-Am has the low level Formula style rear spoiler.
Speedo is in KPH, primary scale with MPH as secondary scale.
Stereo has different step frequencies.
Stock rear gears are 2.72 only.
Manuals have no CAGS (because of rear gears?) solenoid and is programmed out in PCM.
Front fog lights were a deleted option.
Rear High Intensity lights were added to the rear light clusters.
Additional front side marker are added.
Different rear bumpers (Licence plate size is different)
High level brake light is present but wiring not included (I need to confirm this).
You can find some pictures of my car here http://gallery.me.com/dave.sharp
Now, I have no idea if Japan spec cars were modified like the Euro Spec so I apologise in advance if not, but someone might might find the above useful.
I've been lurking here for years - don't remember if I've posted before!!!

I also forgot to mention that the head light covers are more rounded on the leading edge, supposedly more friendly to people you hit!
I don't know about limiter or dyno differences!
When I get home I'll post some more pics of euro f-bodies from meets and shows I attend. I'm sure I have some!
Thought I would mention my mods:
mac mid length headers, slp cai, tb airfoil, pcm4less tune, slp clutch & flywheel, aluminium propshaft, slp sfc's, Richmond 3.73 gears, borla cat-back with qtp.
It was in an issue of Gmhtp last year.
thanks
Worth taking a look at www.autopontiac.co.uk too. I don't like the owners attitude and won't deal with him personally but he is supposed to the font of all knowledge!!

Other forums to check are those of the major clubs, Pontiac Owners club, Pontiac drivers club, American Auto Club International, American Auto club UK (they are different organisations!), plus lots of smaller ones that are more area specific.
You can find both US spec and Euro spec cars, but Euro spec cars require less (no) mods to pass the MOT
