Default Who all sells the mini tub kits?

I was just wondering who all sells the mini tub kits for out GTOs. I've been wanting to do one for a while, I just don't know if I can fit it into my winter mod budget this year.

GFORCE is making a kit I believe. I had my minitub done at ETMC in Texas.

How necessary is a mini tub? Many cars have hooked just fine on less tire than the stock wheel wells can hold.

im pretty sure its important... along with a good suspension setup. One without the other, usually means spinning all over the place without slicks....If you plan to hook on the street i think a tub is a must. Or run DR's everywhere...replacing them every few months...

I think also a mini tube allows you to run a deep dish wheel in the rear also. But hey how much is etmc charging to do a mini tub.

you can run staggered wheels without a mini tub.... A mini tub will help you squeeze fatter meats then 275's in the rear...

Regular price is 1700. Believe he is running a special right now for 1500.

When you are not getting traction before 3rd gear then it is time for some 315s.

This makes no sense to me....I completely understand a good suspension, but minitubs being required doesn't make sense to me. You say one without the other means spinning all over the place without slicks .....then you say you'll spin without a minitub or run DR's everywhere ...

So are you saying that you intend on trying to hook on regular street tires after a minitub?

Sorry, I'm not buying the idea that minitubs are required. Somebody please explain. If all goes well, I hope to be the owner of a GTO next week.

Wow at the reading comprehension in this thread. Minitubs are not a necessity at anything below 500rwhp. When you start making serious power it is a good idea for safety do have more tire on the road. Will you still be able to spin 315s well yeah if you want to, but will get more traction then a stock 245. They make thim in Drag Radials as well if you cross into the crazy power levels.

Thats why i said it usually means spinning all over the place. We all know it your plans are to boost, you can make 500whp easily.

All Im saying is after a tub w/ 315's DR's, and suspension, i plan to hook well on the street. I think thats the best and safest way to do it. I've broke loose at 75-85 mph.. and its really not fun at all. Its down right scary, and makes me wanna drive like a grandma afterwards !

I'll speak for myself then........

It depends on how much power you plan to make..... my goal is 1000hp daily driven.... so a tub is a necessity

You probably never had to consider it on any other build because the GTO is the only car you've built that had such limited space for tire in the rear.... JMHO

Wow at the spelling mistakes. A peak horsepower dyno number is not the standard for determining how much rubber you need on the ground. Got to love the internet.

We run our GTO with NO mini tub our tire is a 275/50/15 DR and we also run a 10 inch x 28 slick granted we only run low 9s at 150+ MPH and No mini tub Needed.I dont think one is Needed as Long as You Run a good rear suspension set up.....Frank

hmmmm....obviously we know what shreds tires is tq but lets contemplate this for a second.... In our cars if you are pushing 500rwhp your tq is where??? around 475 or so. nevermind you were trying to act all smart that you probably could not deduce this simple fact.

If your car is a track car then obviously slicks, suspension, and gears will take care of you. Since you can't drive slick on a street then wide rear tires can help some.
