I love it when a plan comes together...awd VAN beats ZR1.
Fact is my low 10sec Camaro get's pulled for around 330' by a f'n van in a street race before I can catch him

Id run as many zr1's with any mods, for $$$ for 660 ft as I could......if they bring stock oem tires to the party. Why bring it up? Its not fault they built a great car and screwed the pooch with the wrong wheel /tire. The van is running 20's too though.
Last night....the pass agianst the van was his third pass, and at that point his best. Only one other vette was faster. A z06 ran a 12.75......all the other vettes, z06's included were SLOWER then the zr1.
A twin turbo AWD porche ran several times....I know one was a 13.3x....
The van was faster then, a g8 with heads, cam, headers, tune and tires...it was faster then a g8 with a maggie. It was faster then all the other g8s.
It was faster then all but two 4th gen f bodies, and one of those broke so I dont know what he actually ran, but its a heads cam, long tube ta with tire and a stall and tune lid etc.....and goes MID 12's......The other was a ta with a lsx 454.
Faster then all but one mustang I think too, and I think it broke too, but not positive. The van was probably in the top 10 fastest out of 200 cars, and Im lame?
Do you know the guy I talked to this morning at cars and coffee? He has a 1000 hp sb chrysler with a blow thru carb procharger at 29 psi, no intercooler, no meth, on 91 octane........and I d run his car for $$$ too.
The zr1 didnt run good, but 99 out of 100 probably wouldnt run any better. The guy driving had two previous passes, and a track day on a road course, most you might run into on the street, have ZIP, ZERO, nada......yea, I like my chances, a lot.
The best part of our Midnight mayhem track nights is how similar they are to running on the street. I don't think the Zr1 has much more in it with that kind of track prep - Its fighting traction issues over the whole pass even after the 60' .
No street race is gonna go to 100 + from a dig unless its close to start - You can not deny how much the Van steps out in front, you are retarded if you don't look at the slip and see that "The Van" is still .4 out infront by the 1/8th mile thats a few fee past the 60'. Change tire and wheels on the Vette and its a whole new race.
I think you guys are a little overly cocky about the van beating any ZR1. You would have lost that race if he wasn't sleeping at the line......not to mention he couldn't drive it better than what a Z06 was running out there.
The van is awesome. I'd love to see that thing run in person!
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
With all do respect though, that ZR1 should be capable of low to mid 12's with a really good driver and some track prep. Things just aren't very fast here in summer though, especially on Midnight Mayhem events.
I dont think its cocky, and thinks its funny, that no one can see that this zr1 isnt the exception but closer to the norm. In fact in the latest hotrod page 60.....hotrod power tour, there is a picture of the mothers owned zr1 running 13.29......at BRISTOL.......should have and does are two different things.
The van was quicker then 8 of 10 vettes from c5, c5 zo6, to c6 to c6 zo6 and beat the zr1 to line......I guess thats a lot of luck. Ofcourse on the street they dont spin even worse, and are driven by better drivers, that will obviously run atleast as well or better then a guy lined up at a track with a christmas tree.
I m glad, I know that if you chase you race........so Im pretty sure Ill get the leave, everytime and with 5 van lenghts out....its already over long before 1000 ft goes by.

The van will hurt a lot of pride at the streets on stop light to stop light races (1/8 miles or less). If you don't believe me, go read all the posts in the "Street Racing & Kill Stories" forum, a ton posts with stop light races starts with "spinning badly", "we both spun off the line", or "spinning till 3rd gear". This is where the AWD + Stall + 10psi off the line = OMGWTFLOL
But on highway races, that's another story. Giant Box + AWD + 6800lbs + 5 guys in a van (lol ghey) = WTFLOL Free Ice Cream LOL A-Team
Oh the Owner of the Van is a muscle guy name Tylor, we should start calling him Mr. T hahaha
