Where did you come up with the formula that all cars that make 500rwhp on a dyno also make 475 rwtq on the dyno, regardless if it's f/i, a h/c car, stroker, on the bottle, M6, 4000 stall..................................., and that that is the point where you don't need a mini tub on a GTO no matter the suspension set up? I actually agree that the factory tire width is enough for most GTO owners, but don't post some amateur internet information.

Maybe so....

Does anybody offer flared fenders? I'm not talking about bolt on flares or fabbing in some fiberglass ones....I'm talking about new, flared fenders? This would make the car look a lil better AND allow more tire.

Blah blah blah, again read the entire post. I said 475tq OR SO!!! If you dont want a minitub then dont get one, no one cares. If you want help with traction wider tires help the equation period!!! Why do vettes have 325+ out back and other super cars have wider, because it is safer then a damn 245 end of story.

Oh and Frank's setup is badass for sure and hooks like a beast at the track. But ask him if he would push his car ***** to the wall on 275 drag radials on the street or even 50% throttle for that matter. I am sure he would not hook till 90mph or so.

If your car is a track car then obviously slicks, suspension, and gears will take care of you. Since you can't drive slick on a street then wide rear tires can help some.
exactly...thats wut i was trying to say ....

agreed if u plan to attempt hooking big power on the street, suspension alone will not get it. You WILL NEED a wider contact patch, and to house said contact patch on a GTO you need to tub.

Hope it is more legit than your "600 rwhp at 3800rpms" or "60mpg cruising 100mph".

Seriously though you are an idiot you should not be trying to chime in your advice about anything.

That did make me laugh... I get 99.9 MPG when I coast down a big hill at 90+mph...

I never claimed 600whp@ 3800RPMS.... I said the tuner let off the throttle at 3800rpms because I was headed for 600whp based upon the rate of which the power was climbing, not good for the stock block.

I also never claimed 60mph while cruising 100mph. When I got my best MPG I was crawling along at about 65-70 1200rpms 6th gear... The way I had all the pictures arranged on my Car Domain page may have led ppl to assume incorrectly so I changed it, to be more clear... that is all...

But if some of you would rather assume that I made all this up to earn sum "make believe award" or the respect of strangers, then be my guest.

You're an idiot. You're right, increasing your hp has nothing to do with how much traction you need. An increase in HP requires an increase of traction. More meat out back can help with the traction, so can suspension, choose your path. Not a hard concept.

soback on subject here, i think we have established that it is almost just as easy to build your own as it is to buy a mini tub kit.

no mini tub here (275/40-17 on Stock wheels)
Hotchkis Anti Sway bars are my only suspension mods

best 60' was 1.55
(and I've cut lots of 1.6x's)

I hook over 600lbs of tq @ the rear wheels
on "Street tires" (got over 8K miles and 100 passes on the last set)

then again,
I cut 1.8x on my stock KDWS's

BTW,
I'd love to get more rubber under the back

I went 9.41 at 144 on 10.5" slicks with no mini tub. Took a big *** hammer to make them fit. That was a bone stock rear suspension too.
Since then I have moddified rear control arms and mini tubs + coil overs, now I can fit a 325 drag radial or a 28x14.5 hoosier
Getting it set for 8.50's
