I've gotten caught in some hard rain with my PT4000 and my only worries were my nearly worn out drag radials and my **** poor wipers. If you don't put the pedal down it's not gonna do anything stupid. If you do go WOT in the rain at any speed, you better hold on (and have good insurance).

im wondering if i should really swap out my 3200 for a ss4000 for my car that never will see the track and worry bout setting records.

01ssreda4, how come you just didn't send your old converter back to get it restalled/refreshened to a 4000?

well i just took my T/A on a little road trip with my SS4000. went 259miles on a little over half a tank. 68mph @ 1900rpm so do the math thats about 26-27mpg. and still can bust out a 12 at the track. Love my car and my yank!!!!!!

yes just use your head. i got caught in a rain storm on the way home from the track with slicks and skinnies. it acted fine as long as you just eased it around. i taped the gas once, and ill tell wet slick and 4000 stall make it like ICE! but street tires in the rain is fine as long as your smart

WOW, seems like forever that I started this thread. I finally got this converter installed. Not pushing it hard off the line or with any kind of sticky tires right now but man the shift extension is awesome.......

I always thought my SS4000 could use some more gear behind it (still have stock 3.23s), but it never bothered me enough to actually upgrade and overall I really like the converter. I drive my Z28 everywhere, and in almost every kind of weather. Only thing I had to do was change exhausts (got an SLP dual/dual) because the high RPMs/loud exhaust got really annoying.

Gears make a loose stall drive more like a stock one.

When I had 2.73s I had a Yank ST2800 and it felt almost like stock; now that I have 3.42s (and back on the stock stall) I'm considering going with the Yank SS3600 or SS4000. I'd really like to drop about 5 tenths from my 1/4 ET if possible.

I have a tr224......this is an awesome combo too. A lot of the midrange pull comes from the verter....
