Well thats better, you made it sound like you tighten the nut untill the PR wouldnt spin. Maybe I read it wrong. I dunno
Lloyd Elliott is whom I got my info from. You know the head/cam guru that builds LT1s every day. He suggests 1/8 turn past 0 lash with Promags

Sorry about that! Yeah I still may loosen them an set them at 1/2 and listen for noises, If I don't have any there than I'll leave them right there. Hell I don't know, I wouldn't consider myself a full blow certified mechanic just one that can't afford to pay someone to do my work, lol! Just can't wait to get back and tackle this oil pressure issue. That's my main concern! The car starts and runs perfect except for the oil pressure concern issue! No one want's to total out a motor for something as simple as no il pressure ecspecially with all the money that goes into these projects....Damn why does **** have to be so expensive anyhow. I'm right at about $5K just for my simple forged 355 build, damn my wife hates my car, lol! although I know in reality it makes the panties wet when I fire it up, lol!

1/2 past is what comps directions say see page 3
http://www.compcams.com/v002/Instructions/Files/151.pdf

I hear ya, ive spent a **** load in the last year in mods alone, somewhere around 15k
As for the oil, best best is to test with a mechaincal gauge first.

Jesus, 15K holy crap did it come with wings to fly, loL! I wish I could spend this amount. If I didn't have 2 damn houses I could drop a bit more in mine. Damn economy is **** right now and can't sell one of them yet! Even then my wife would diffently flip if I dropped $15K into my car although I could turn it around on her and be like women I just bought you a brand new Dodge charger. get over yourself, lol! I could have taken that $30k and put it else where! Yeah I'm going with a mechanical here shortly

Damn that must be fantastic, I'm in the military and got forced to move from tucson, az to korea then to Missouri. I had purchased a house in az for
$205K then the market crashed 3 months after, figures, then was told my follow on from korea was going to be any where but Arizona so we chose Mo since it's 5 hrs from our home in Illinois. We then purchased another house here in mo for $135K, stuck with the other house as well. Luckily I have a renter in the other house all though it doesn'r cover all of the mortgage, $400 less actually but anyways, we have 3 kids as well, lol! My life is defentily interesting at the age of 25, lol! Oh to add to this thank god the camaro has been paid off for the past 6 years and then I have to pay for my 04 Dodge rumble bee truck plus my wifes brand new 09 Dodge charger. I guess thank god for bad *** credit becuase I never thought I would be able to afford any of this. $400K later you live pay check to pay check all though I always lived by the fact you only live once so **** it right!!!!!

Well I got the mechanical oil pressure gauge in and that was a bitch which included a few cuts and scratches, lol!!, Pulling the auxillary oil pressure passage port plug from right above the oil filter was a nightmare but got it....I figure I would let the thread sealant seal over night and then take it out for a ride tomorrow. I'll try to get some pics up of my gauge install, I ended up installing it where my heat/ac controls are at. I removed the 1st **** and cut it out to fit the gauge, I think it looks pretty bad ***, like it was meant to be there this whole time, Oh yeah my car has no heat or a/c components in it what's so ever except for that little instrument panel for a stock look! I'll let you know what the gauge reads tomorrow after I check for leaks, take it for a ride and then put the dash back together! Thanks for the help and hopefully this was my problem the whole time!

Ok so you all know i've been having issues with the oil pressure and mashing the gas and then going into limp mode and then idling all fucked up and this is what I have wrong apparently! MAF/MAP Sensor reading to high, Left Oxygen sensor reading lean, and the Throttle Position Sensor is reading too high, what the **** guys! I imagine that my O2 sensor is reading this because I have open headers at the moment, my pipes are here thank god, I just replaced the damn TPS sensor about a month ago or so, can't understand this one. Should I adjust my throttle body set screw **** by pulling it back some???? It runs fine until it's warmed up and for the MAF/Map Sensor I have no clue about this ****, what the hell is this about? Also to go with all of this I have aquestion about the oil pressure ****, I installed the new mechanical Oil pressure gauge and it does read about 10-12 psi higher than the stock gauge for sure but it still drops upon acceleration some, lowest was around 20psi today all though it kept throwing apparenlty the above codes....So with these codes I believe it's going into limp mode when I'm mashing the gas and then I'm thinking maybe the motor is bogging itself down causing my lower oil pressure under acceleration, does this sounds feasable of my issues....What does everyone recommend from this point because I hate electronics????? I'm so pist with the amount of money that has gone into this car and it ******* up with all this electronic bullshit I'm seriously conteplating going carb or some ****! This may get rid of most of my electronic issues right? What's recommended from you guys!

Default Oil pressure

Something is bad wrong,my 138k mile lt1 has over 30lbs hot in gear,I done my cam about 10k ago, when I pulled the cam I installed fresh bearings+a Melling select oil pump, with all this said and done my oil pressure only picked up 5lbs from the stock pump and original bearings.I hate to tell you but something is bad wrong with pressure dropping on accel.,you better start tearing it down before you blow it.

Not what I want to hear for sure but I'm now leaning towards the god damn pump being bad, mother ******* machine shop!!!! It's such a bitch to get that **** sucker out to that's what pisses me off so bad, I planned on having a fresh rebuilt motor with out this kind of issue! Damn I want to smack the **** out of my machinest about right now! Wonder if they would fix that **** since it was there faulty ****! How and the hell do you know if the pump is even bad??? I mean yeah you can swap it out and then if it works properly then yeah that would be an indication but other than that what the hell can you do to test this?
