Default What gears would be the best?

3.91 or 4.10's????
Anybody have the 4.10's from gforce1320 yet?
I like highway roll racing but I also like going to the track so idk if I should just get the 4.10's or not.
How much would they slow me down on the top end?

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm about 75% sure I will get 4.10. When the time comes.

They wont slow you down ,it just makes it better

Not a noticable difference between a 3.91 and 4.10 rear.... I would just go with the 3.91, you wont really lose that much up top.... Figure you can almost top the car out in 5th gear.... and we got 6spd's

You will lose 8-10 mph in each gear going from a stock 3.46 to the 3.91. Personally, I tried it and pulled it back out. I didn't gain anything at the track, and lost 2mpg on the highway. For the money, I think there are better mods.

Ha Ha Ha. Yeah there is no trueth to that. WTF are you smokin? You have never seen my car run. I had it at the track a couple of weeks before the gear swap, and then right after the swap. Better weather after, and still wasn't quicker or faster. 113 trap speed before, 111 after, consistently.
Losing 2mpg on the highway is pretty hard to dispute also since I drive the **** out of my car and put 25K on it last year. I have a pretty damn good idea of what my mileage is all the time. I check it every time I fill up.

3.91's are a blast. And you should know, see, and feel a difference in the change, weather its right for you and your situation, being it a daily driver or just a track car is up to you. I would go 3.91 and not 4.10. Our gearing in our M6 trans will equal it out, giving you the same total gearing like in the f-bodys who are using a 4.10

LMAO First off, your not going to lose 10mph in each gear... You have to be a complete moron to think that or say that lmao.... Secondly your car is not going to be slower with a rear end thats getting your car into its powerband quicker... thirdly, your losing ET with this rearend??? Its called DRIVER MOD!!! The only thing i will agree with you is that i can see someone losing a couple MPG do to the R's being up a tad.... Not a big deal.....

from 3.91 to 4.10 it is only about a 4.7 % difference. honestly i think you might get a 1mph or less trap speed difference.

Stock 3.46 gear:
rpm 1 2 3 4 5 6
5500 41 59 85 121 144 202
3.91 gear
5500 36 52 75 107 128 179

oops you're right, only 5mph in 1st, 7 in 2nd, and 10 or more in the other 4 forward gears at any given rpm level.

Secondly your car is not going to be slower with a rear end thats getting your car into its powerband quicker... says you...

I didn't say ET, I said trap speed - read jackass - time slips to prove it. I got plenty of driver mod bitch...

The only thing i will agree with you - good for you... is that i can see someone losing a couple MPG do to the R's being up a tad.... Not a big deal..... Unless you DD your car and put 25K+ on it per year.
OP, get the gears. I'm not telling you that they won't work for you. You asked for oppinions, and I gave you mine. They DID NOT work for my setup contrary to the belief of some. Also, if you plan on going FI or nitrous ever, the gears may be too much on an A4 car, but you would probably be OK with an M6. You don't have any slippage like you do with a high stalled A4, so you won't run out of rpm in 4th at the end of the track.

Yeah, like I said, get them and see how they work for you. You might like them. I liked how the car pulled in 3rd and 4th gear, just didn't see the gains to justify the cost. I put the money elsewhere.

Looks like someone got told....LOL

Unless you have 3:91... you wouldn't know... I don't see how some people think they know more about a car than the owner... Yes, it will hurt your trap...you may have a better ET but your trap will be slower... Your ET will be faster because of 60ft and 1/8th mile...Your average speed during the coarse of the track will be higher, hence the better ET...
