Default Took out dash to do HVAC delete, What is this box? no plug on main harness for it?

Hey guy's, I pulled my dash and hvac box im getting ready to start putting it all back together. After the dash came out I found this little electrical box I have no idea what its for, it was wedged inbetween a plastic part on the rear of the dash not bolted, clipped in nothing just wedged. I've looked at the harness 3 time now and cannot find a plug that matches the one on this box. I don't remeber unpluging it at all.

Hopefully you guys know what its for. I'm starting to think its not for anything and was just there.

Here's a few pic's

does it have a yellow clip on the actual box where a plug could go? IIRC when i pulled my dash i removed the box that you are describing and it went to the passenger side airbag.

If it's in the center of the dash area (vs. in the console area) then the black box is the Retained Assessory Power (RAP) module.

+2 i just removed my dash not to long ago and never saw that one. Maybe something aftermarket that the previous owner had installed/removed and just left that in there.

i can go look real quick. You can still see everything under neither there without all that bs in there. where did you say it was located (besides just being under the dash)?

It was wedged in the back of the center of the dash Right below the Radio. If you could that would be awesome.

I tore the entire dash out of my 96 and never saw anything like that. Doesn't look stock. It's not the air bag module either.

no problem man. Ya more than likely it was a screw up. It could be worse. I was working on a brand new BMW suv and found a 5lb maul inside of the dash. I was building a console and installing a screen and PS3 about a year ago when i still did the stuff on the side.

I'm still thinking it's something for the Air Bags..the Wiring colors are the same as all the circuits for the Air Bags..
