Default Cobalt Sedan SS vs 300C Hemi

So I am driving home from work just cruising at regular pace when I see a red Srt4. There is minimal traffic except for a 300c near us and I have never messed with one so I try to egg him on a bit. I give him a few blow-offs but notice he appears to be talking to himself until I notice the blue tooth "I am much cooler than you" thingy in his ear.

So I let it go. We I get a light with the 300. Nice looooooooooooooong straight off road with me next to the 300 and the Srt behind him still yappin away. I was caught off guard when the light goes green and the 300 nails it!!! I didn't have any clue or get any warning that he was game, when he made his way around the Srt and got the light with me I didn't assume it was cause he wanted some.

So I get on it and stop his pull once I get traction and keep at his back door thru 70mph when he lets off. I know I would have drove around him if we stayed in it for longer. So I figure, fine you got me. I am going to instigate a roll and show him what the little red 4-door can do.

We catch a light with me behind him. When it goes green he gets on it. I have to ride my clutch to stay off his ***. he had to know the game a bit since he didn't just stay in it, he let me pull onto his side. We paced for a few 100 feet and I started to honk. We both nail it on 3 and I start to pull...and pull...and pull. To the effect of probably 3 cars by 100.

I give him a thumbs up and a nod but he was tinted pretty dark so I dotn know if it was thug life driving or some grandma.

What was funny is although the Srt never lined up with me he got into it each time we did and stayed back a bit as if to watch his 4-door brother whupp some hemi ***.

Thanx for reading another story of the infamous and under-rated little cobalt

(My wife need to read this and let me get my damn tune!!)

Great kill! I really liked the SC Cobalts and almost bought one, but the turbo ones are just on another level! Have you ever raced a stock SC Cobalt to see the difference? How much more does the 4-door weight over the coupe?

Is it your car or hers? If it's hers then hopefully she'll come around. If it's yours then you just have to try sneak a few dollars a week into a "separate account"

a stock S/C would get smoked by a SS T/C

I know, but I'm wondering how big the difference is from someone with first hand experience, as I don't have any.

Not yet, they are a damn good fight if modded.
stock it would take an elite driver in the s/c vs an average in the t/c and then it would be closer but reg joe vs reg joe, the t/c is pulling away.

if you want a good comparison of what a tune does, you may like this vid.
guy from my board before and after tune against a S/C
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPplA...er_profilepage

mods of S/C
* 2.7" pulley - 60 lbs/injectors
* OTTP canned tune (I get 11.6 of AFR, 18 degres of timing, 93 octane)
* R.A.W. 3" cold air intake
* CTI header
* CTI 3" downpipe with high flow cat
* Stock catback
* OTTP heat exchanger
* Dual pass intercooler endplate
* Stu mod
* OTTP trans mount stage 2

So far there are reports of 285/330 with the GM tune.
That may be enough.......for the darn tires anyway!

damnit, i wish i had the money for one of these for a DD. most of the cobalts around here are the s/c (like 95%) and they all think "im a stage 2, i can beat anything" so that gets real annoying real fast. good kills, now get some damn videos of all these races.

the stage 2's are pretty nice too though.
the blower sounds kind of mean considering its coming out of a cobalt...lol
but the t/c has been showing crazy numbers with a tune.
