I have just over 80 Passes on it now ranging from 10.22 - 11.1 all in the 129-134 range. 5000 Street miles.

Would be great if you posted how to build the rest of the tranny! This is a great read for people like me who are clueless as to how the tranny works and it's also a great guide for first timers.

FLT definitely takes the wow factor! I opened up the crate that my trans came in and the trans looks great. Ive got an appointment to install it this friday so I cant wait. I'll be calling Andy or Vince to setup the return and let them know how she runs.

We have a media blasting machine that we use here and then hand polish all of the machined bores with scotch bright pads. They really are beautiful to work with and the guys in the shop do an excellent job getting them ready for me to build. Not sure what the exact grade of the blast is but I do know that it is not soda. Vince

What's your trick for getting the input drum to mesh with the reaction carrier assembly? I used an old reaction carrier to line the frictions up but it still gave me trouble. Is this just something you live with, or am I missing something? BTW..Wow factor from impulse speed to warp factor 10 after reading this thread.
This may or might make sense. I guess it is having a feel for the 3-4 clutches in the drum as you lower it into the trans. You pretty much have to rotate the drum as you align the clutches without having much weight on the drum as you lower it down while twisting. I usually pretty much support the drum while holding the shaft with my hands and slowly turn it back and forth as it grabs each clutch plate. When it is all the way down you will hear a thud. This is when the input sun gear and sprag assembly make contact with the front planet and the input drum. Vince

Frank I'm sorry I no longer work for the company. Unfortunately the picture links were broken in my photo bucket account when I was cleaning it up a couple of years ago. I no longer have access to my old account here on tech per FLT's doing so I'm sorry I can not repost the pictures.
