Default How do you get the valve assymbly off of a bottle?

I sprayed some penitrating oil around it. Stuch the valve end in a vise and tried to turn the bottle. Then I got the bottle on the bench , stuck a large cresent wrench on the valve and smacked the **** out if the wrench with a hammer. Any ideas?

Try taking a wratchet-strap and do 1 or two wraps around the bottle and strap it down to your work bench. Then grab your wrench and a dead-blow. It will twist right off.

Be sure the penetrating oil is completely wiped away before you replace the valve. Be especially careful to not allow oil inside the bottle. We should not get oil or grease on any nitrous fittings.

is the bottle steel or alu? get that dam oil out of there before you blow something or someone up. I know the bottle is emptly but man there always seem to get some where is shouldn't be...be very carefull. The strap to a bench works well they are torqued to 100 ftlbs.

I had to beat the living hell out of the wrench I put on mine with a hammer to get it off. I had an HSW carry handle/mount on mine so I had something to secure the bottle with, but yeah, those things can be on there pretty damn tight. good luck

Please read the label on your nitrous bottle. It should say something about the use of oil while handling the bottle.

Securing the bottle is the hardest part. The rubber grips to prevent area rugs from sliding on hardwood floors are helpful too.

oil or grease or just flamable lube. Nitrous is a liquid under pressure, release that pressure pass oil or like substance and it can go boom badly. This will also can happen with a oxgen cyclinder. If you put lube on the threads when you open the bottle the pressure created heat and boom.
