Been busy with other projects and had to back burner this for a litle bit, life happens.

Looking to get a set of Novak headers ordered in the next week or so and then I can really get serious about finishing everything else.

I promise that I'll update this thread as soon as something interesting gets done.

Any update? Curious how the Novak headers fit compared to your modified stock manifolds. Cool build!

FWIW,
I'm hopeful that at some point I'll find a good buyer for my 4.6L stroker and be able to finish this project. I'd love to have the spare cash to order the $600 headers from Novak but a clothes washer that basically grenaded and a root canal/crown for me this week has once again back burnered this project.

I'm seriously considering dumping the header idea and just welding up some stock manifolds. I've looked everywhere and tried a few different headers (loaners) and unfortunately nothing fits. I've emailed a bunch of header manufacturers and only Sanderson replied....no luck there.

And to top it off...I didn't win the Powerball drawing last night. Can it get any worse?

Thanks for the update. What other headers did you try? From Novak's website, I thought the headers were in the $300 range?

Uncoated are $325 range. I've tried a variety of Chevy block huggers/shorty headers and even a set of Ford 5.0L shortys

I love this swap. I'd love to do this in my 98' Grand Cherokee if the 4.0 ever wants to die(probably never)

It's complete and ready to drop in.
Yes I'll ship if you want to arrange for someone to pick up the motor, i'll put it on a pallet.

Guesstimated at 260/290 (altitude dependant of course).

Just finished trying to fit a set of Hooker block hugger Headers.....FAIL. The drivers side fits okay but theres inteference between the passenger side header and the Novak motor mount.

Looks like I'm going to have to get the headers from Novak.

I would just throw some stock F-body manifolds on it an run it! Then worry about headers later.

Thanks for the info. I'm gathering parts for a 5.3L into an 88 XJ. I've got the Novak motor mounts and was wondering about the Hooker headers.

Got the headers on Thursday evening. They are made by Sanderson Headers. I've looked on the Sanderson website and cannot find an exact match.

I'll be painting them in a day or two and then I'll get 'em bolted in so I can start fabbing up the rest of the exhaust.

Yes I'm going to run all 4 O2 sensors for proper fuel management in the closed loop mode.
