anyone got any pics of the vents done with some sort of cover/vent thing on it? I want to do something like this since I am doing an ITb setup...would flow cooler air into the engine bay for the 6 throttle bodies I'll have sitting under there...So my main concern is water getting in there, because it would be going directly onto my throttle body socks, and soaking through...not to mention this is my daily driver, so I drive it in rain and snow...I know snow melting on that spot and seeping through would be just lovely for my setup to....

I was thinking that drilling out the holes (or that sheet metal full of holes shown earlier) would allow enough cold air to come in when driving, and should provide a good enough barrier, but I would like to see how this looks...

Damn I just saw this. I did the initial removal of the inner black piece on my second '94 in '96 (white as well oddly). Then in '99 I went one step further and removed everything from my '94 Z28. Fake scoops out all together and then cut the retaining tabs off the hood itself and installed glass seal around the edge for a clean look, and then underneath attached black sceening to allow MASSIVE amounts of heat out, but keep leaves and such from getting in. Rain was no issue since I chose a screen that was tight enough to keep it from pouring through and actually mildly puddle.

/\ /\ /\ i never ever once had any problems with anything. and i drove my car in freaking huge rainstorms in NC and never had any problem with ran the only problem i had was a few drops on my polished fuel rails every once in a while but most of the time they would drip on the headers and yea they dispated in a hurry. but after hearing and seeing how other people have dont these. not to brag but i feel whole heartedly that this is the best route to go. i noticed a huge loss in heat outta the engine bay. and it looked like nothing was done but made them functional.

Again my offer stands if you are wanting this done shoot me a pm i will be more then happy to work out a price for ya and knock these out.

Every time I park my car I can see heat escaping. It's pretty sweet.

I noticed a good drop in under hood temps.

Might as well do it, the concept is good for cool air in and hot air out, and its easy.
