Default 350 or 383 LE 2 rwhp?

What REAL rwhp should I expect from a basic 350 or a basic 383 with an LE 2 package? By basic I mean low buck parts no ultra light weight rotating assemblies. Maybe have Lloyd port the intake, his 230/234 cam, 58mm, long tubes, and rr. Also with this cam will the cam surge in 6th gear be undriveable? I'm planning on running 4.10 gears which might help some.I'm just trying to get my mind made up on which direction I really want to go. I'm kinda stuck figuring out if I want a TRUE daily driver small cam 350 or go allittle wilder with a 383 Lloyd big cam. This car will be driven regularly and spend some time on the highway. Any help? Thanks.

i don't see ported heads in your list? a 383 would need a good set off flowing heads to feed the extra cubes.. if your not going to get your heads ported from llyod just stick with a 350 or 355...

You can make a 383 drive as good as a 350 or anything else. It's all in the heads/cam selection. The 383 will have the potential to make more power however.

stock block 350 here, also have Lloyd's LE2.2 cam. In 6th gear even with shitty! 3.23 rear gear I get NO surge at 65mph the and the damn thing is practically idling.

No ported heads? Thats what an LE 2 package is -ported stock heads and custom cam. Like most money is tight but I dont want to do the 350 and wish I had went 383. If I can afford it I'm leaning 383.Might take longer but in the end it will be worth it. I was just wondering what kinda rwhp I should expect from my LE 2 383 with a middle of the road cam compared to a 350? Lloyd is only an hour from me so he will deffinatly get my business again, he ported my iron eagles on my bracket camaro and was able to get 292cfm @ .600 lift. Which I thought was amazing. Are their any companies building 383 lt1 short blocks that anyone knows about?

383 isn't much more money than a 350. like $500 more. i wish i had gone 383 route, but im pretty satisfied with mine now. I was worried i would blow the 383 up faster because of how much i rev my car to redline tho..

It made 377whp on a Mustang Dyno, while running a rich tune 11.6afr across the board.

I'm building a similar setup all forged splayed 4 bolt 383 with LE3 heads and a GM 847 cam, ported intake, 58 mm tb,42# injectors, LT headers, m6, S60 rear and Lloyd told me to expect 440 - 480 rwhp with a proper tune

i dont see how a full rotating assembly, assembled and balanced and machine work would cost a total of $500 but ok lol.

it says right on his site expect 380-410rwhp...not flywheel...that's to the wheels...and thats on a stock shortblock, not a 383. And with an auto you'd want a stall/gears to make the most of what you've got.

and the LE2 PACKAGE comes with ported stock heads, ported stock intake, and a cam of your choice, whether it be off the shelf or custom ground by elliot portworks.

expect a little less hp out of an auto...
