when the air gets in the 40s the affect seems to be exponential…
It seems like another variable could have been affecting your times though, because in theory the temperature is only one variable in the formula so it shouldn't matter what the temperature is as long as the other variables make the DA the same number.

Two things I am assuming which could be wrong, is that the formula is actually correct, and that DA is directly related to the performance increase.

Thinking out loud it seams like a certain DA is always the same BUT a colder version of the same DA may have a greater affect on ET because it could affect other variables. The density of the air going into the intake should be the same, but variables like the car running cooler and parts not heat soaking could improve et/mph.

I kinda answered my own question/ thinking...

EDIT: What were your actual MPH's? B/c there's a big difference between 124.6 and 125 when figuring this out..

Believe me, I know there is a big difference with rounding, remember I am an engineer, ha…

Numbers are represented what they are…

Also remember DA is just a formula used to help judge current conditions and how a car will respond…it is a linear formula, but what I am saying is it tends to go quadratic in the real cold conditions helping out more than it seems…Everyone uses DA as a tool it is not a golden set in stone rule that says your car has to respond a certain way…Just look at spray cars they are hardly affected by DA because they create their own atmosphere that is oxygen rich…

also i am not saying it is all DA related just that it responds better the colder it is, over the same DA under warmer conditions...i am sure there are other factors but this is the result I and others have noticed...

Hijack off…

thanks,

I didnt bump chrish but learned alot yesterday, sence I did the rear shocks/spool the cars "working" now. It's really cool I know what one click of the front shocks will do, and it dose it. But I still hav't changed some thinks I know I should. The TA front mount is in the 4th hole (BMR Xmember relco) up, and the LCA are on the bottem hole for a 5* upsweep at ride heigh. Wich is (without me) 28 DR, 27 3/4 PR, 27 1/4 DF 27 PF. I would like to put the LCA is the mid hole for a 2* and move the IC out a bunch, see it it will not spin but not shock it so bad. But I really didn;t have time only getting 4-6 passes a TnT night. And that was my last local open track day. Last time I made adjustment for 60' and the improved but it didnt show up in the 330' and else. I think its from my car not making alot of power and wheelie more then it needs the airdam in tripping the 60's? But I didn't care about getting the lwoer 1.4's and looked at the 330's and broke the 4.4x with the 4.3s and went faster overall. 6.80x 1/8ths

The DA wasnt even that good. it was maybe +'s It was a nice day low 50's maybe 53 high?
I was thinking my MPH was hi, but looking at the camonly list every 6speed guy is 3-4mph more then a auto guy for there ET. I dont think I can do miuch better, unless dumping some money it real racecar light light stuff, drag brakes, lexan glass, chromoly everything. I dont think the short time can get any better, its really makeing dick for power.

between 3-4, (0 on Drs) rears in the Mid setting with is 50/50, I called them. Ther not the same as the comp 3ways. been running 12.5-13 psi sence its been cold out. But was running more ...15-16 when it was warm out. An would hook/bog with no wheel speed (ran it a little high to spin a little)

Same ramHD clutch all year, great street/street clutch.

Yea i am walking the fine line of dead hook and spin my self. But it like a good hard hit with about a good 3 to 4 turns out of the rear tires and then it 60's and 330 very nicely.

yeah you are right there just need some better DA, nice raceweight by the way...

also it shows how much you are back halfing i went 6.69 to 10.61 so 3.92 sec back half

you were 6.80 to 10.66 so 3.86 sec back half .06 gained on me from 1/8 mile on...and were trucking at 27.12mph top end to my 24.5mph...

only advantage i have is out of the hole, keep on sticking() to it, the cold air will come and you will run a 10.5x

Ya, that was the last local date, not sure about shooting for a 10.5 ( or just a 10.616 ) I'd like to, if guys are going to that QTP race at ATCO there some great air there I hear.
The backhalf stuff I've never looked at them before. Is that good or bad? My m90 GTP some guys pointed it out, but thats setup was unneiqe and alot of other cars get setup wrong.

I'm open for ideas on little things to improve, or big things if I'm missing anything. Tonight I pulled the airpump off my friends car. I've been wanting to see about useing it as a vac pump. I'm gona put the catback back in to drive it on the street this week. But some night I'll try to put it on the dyno, do a pull, and just wire the pump up direct. And getto rigg some tubes the the valve covers and do a pull. Any guess, or tips on doing that? remove the cautch can, I dont see it hurting anything, its not vented.

JT37 made this vid, got both the 10.66 pass

I just looked up the weather info, anyone use this site?
http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density-...t+Weather+Data

NYIRP 10-25-09

The 10.661 was at 5:40, and 10.668 was at 6:02

this was @ 5:54 PM closest on that site
air temp 51.1
baro 30.20
rel. hum. 63%
DA -1

Naw the backhalfing is a good thing shows your setup is making 2mph+ more than me for the last 1/8mile of the track, and actually 1mph more in the first 1/8 mile in worse conditions (i.e. I had better DA, while you are a hair lighter), so the only way I could possibly beat you is with an extremely low 60ft…so I might jump out 1.5-2 cars on you on the start but you are reeling all of those in by the finish…just think if you match my 60ft times, I would be screwed, ever think of an auto swap…

You might want try the rear drag bar, it helped me out a lot, although your 60fts now are pretty impressive for a m6, bottom line is I don’t think it is going to hurt you at all…

Ya, I hear you on the ARB not gona hurt anything at the track, The TRZ one is lighter then most soild style type rear swaybars. I would have my friends make one, or get the wolfe. Hows your on the street, what kind is it? Rip any mounts off. I drive the car a lot, all over.

I run the Spohn poly bushed one with reg style endlinks. Car hooks on a drag radial and leaves pretty evenly. No way Id use solid end link one on a car Id be driving alot, I usually drive an hour and half when I go to the track with mine, Id turn around halfway and come back dealing with that clankity clank. Torque arm and the gears singing from the abuse I give it is enough noise for me

How does it drive? You can drive a lot 300 miles a week it doesn't mean it does it comfortably..
