From the SLP website

4.10 Gear Sets will require a modification to the stock differentials thrust plate on vehicles equipped with a Zexel-Torsen differential. Call for details.

I know they used to sell a different paddle as the stock on will not clear the ring gear when you try and stick it back in the carrier after you put the axles in

I doubt that you have an auburn That was an SLP option on Firehawks and SS cars Mine didn't have it. It would be easy though to pull the diff cover and check

we need an ls1 chat.. lol, they say you can simple just grind down the paddle already in the rear to make it work just fine? I dunno what it looks like so I cant give my opinion if that is easy and safe or what.

theres what a guy had to grind with 3.73's on the right of the block. Simple to do so I see. Slp f your 175$ paddle block . Thats rediculous. THink i have everything else figured out. If the rear holds together how much do you guys think i'll pick up ? Is it mostly just to the 60'/330 that I see a gain or through-out the whole run with the higher gear.

SO i got the richmond 4.10s gear set, the mega install kit, the pinion setting/ back lash tool gauge kit, an 80 minute intructional video and some fluids! Only thing I have to worry about now is figuring out who can get the bearing off the pinion so I can get to that shim. I hear guys have a lot of good luck re-using the same shim? Bearing pullers are expensive, i have a press atleast and small pullers.

rent a puller from the "VATOZONE" you get a full refund if you bring it back. the guy that did my gears years back reused the same stock shim, they didnt really whine and i had richmonds, which from what ive read are the loudest.

Well looks like you got it figured out now. I'd say I would pull the bearings of the pinion for you if you were closer.

thanks dan! And we don't have a vatozone around here, we have an autozone and possibly they have the puller, I'm guessing when putting the bearing back onto the pinion i could just throw it all in my press and use a pipe of some sort that wont mess the bearing up.

I have an old pinion bearing that I took the cage and roller bearing from and use that to press new pinion bearing on.

Look up SUX2BU ram air and seal up your airbox. You can do it for $30-40 and its worth a legit .1 minimum and probably more.. You could also look into SSRA type ram air if you want to go that route but it is significantly more expensive and it is debatable which is better..

Also port your stock throttle body, you can do it youself for close to free and is worth some too.

With the extra money you have left over, buy some LCA relocation brackets and an UD pulley and still have money for gate admission

4.10s are in, SLP making a paddle kit is such a joke, took me 3 minutes on a bench grinder and it popped in first try. I barely had to take any material off.

I got the right foot print on the ring gear the first try, which seemed lucky. Cars feels stronger down low, nothing crazy but it is noticable. 1st gear roast the mt's, also instead of 4th gear just coasting thru the traps it feels like now it has some pulling power. Thats enough for now though, time to break them in and then another oil change. Track rained out tomorrow, cecil in 2 weekends, trailer is coming too cause I might break em.
