Default Where did they all go?

Where did all the real knowlegeable, experienced LTX guys go? There's only a handful of what I would consider LTX "experts" on here, and it makes things ****** boring. Just like the advanced tech section over at cz28.com... ghost town. We need more arguing and bantering on here. And not the LE vs AI bullshit where 95% of the people posting are 16 year olds with spark plugs and CAI as their biggest mods. Maybe there's just not enough advancement in the LTX world to argue about? One easy solution i know would be to bring Bret back

Our cars are getting older and those that have the money to mod have already moved on to LSX. With the average cost of LT1s down to next to nothing anyone can go out and buy one...including 16yo kids. The ones that have stuck with the LT1 either A: are die hard LT1 fans and they have some strange sort of sentimental value B: feel they have something to prove to the LS1 crowd that looks down their nose at LT1s or C: they don't know any better and are gluttons for punishment. Either way I agree that things have gotten a little silly around here with too many biased opinions (vendor nutswingers) or completely worthless conversations but I have nothing bettor to do soooo.........

You nailed it on the head and there are not many lt1 guys around at all and have moved to lsx crowds. But atleast there are a handful of people still around and/or the ls1 guys still chime in on the ltx forums.

You should see how Bert is "winning friends and influencing people" on yellowbullet.
As stated, the target audience for these platforms are the younger kids on a limited budget.

I have stuck with my LT1 because I have an attachment to it for almost 12 yrs. I know the LSX has more potential, better aftermarket etc, but keep my car because im attached to the platform is some weird way.

Or keep your LT1 and get an LSX as you can get those next to nothing as well. Thats what I plan to do when I finish my build........... Then I'll sell it. hah

LOL.

LT1's are becoming the new fox body it seems and the market generally applies to high school aged individuals. I bought my first LT1 in highschool but at that time they were a little pricey for a 16 year old unless it was beaten up. Now you can even come across some high mileage LS1's that a 16 year old could afford. I remember back in the late 90's when my dad wanted an LT1 Z28 but now it's my next door 16 year old neighbor running it off the road, thinking their badass and all that.

I just love LT1s and they have tons of potential, most people just take the easy way out.
Only thing about arguing, is the threads alway get locked. Although its fun while it lasts!

I am on a budget (wife, two kids, house, blah blah) also. some younger people have more disposable income for hotrods, I mean have you seen all the damn civics? BESIDES LT1's look and sound better.

unfortunately the LTx's are the new 5.0... easy to get, easy to mod and unfortunately easy to really F*ck up.... gives all the smart guys bad reputations....

any advanced LTx tech on here has really already been gone over... we've run out of things to talk about and discuss.... There are some advanced talks that go on here sometime but it's overshadowed with the 500 dudes asking "what CAI do I got? I bought my car for 200 bucks from a dude named Billybob and he says it's from D&B cool air sucking company..."

those that have stuck with LTx's are somehow attached to the motor. My engine builder shakes his head all the time at why I decided to go this route when i could have a 434 ci SBC with 18 degree heads, belt drive distributor and all the fixins for about the same price...
