Thumbs down FAST LSXR 102 Disappointment!!

Well we just got my friends C6 LS3 off the dyno. It made 463RWHP Before the Fast 102 LSXR intake swap. After we installed the Fast intake the vette made 430 RWHP.

Here are the specs of the car and mods:
It's a 2008 M6 ls3 vette
-Dynatech headers and X-pipe 1-3/4
-Vara-Ram intake
-Comp 224/230-581/588 with install kit.
-Air fuel ratio was 12.42 on the last run out of 5 runs.
-We used the stock t/b.

Any help would be great.
Thanks

I've been seeing more and more threads about the Fast LSXR not living up to its name.

Its worth about 5/5 across the board. Not like the Gen 3 manifolds. The LS3/LS7 manifolds are pretty stout from GM.

I think they should change their name from FAST to Slow

Can anybody just use this intake with the 102 tb??????
Every friggin' thread that has come up with this manifold always has a "catch".
Another thread the guy changed the cam now this guy is using the stock tb.
I can't see the thing costing the car 30rwhp, no way-something else has to be off.
Maybe the throttle blade wasn't opening all the way after the swap, something?
Thanks for the results but still not an optimum comparison IMO, FWIW.

So u lost 30 rwhp from installing an intake...IMPOSSIBLE...Just like louis said...Good for 5/5 out of the box...If u are going to waste your money on it...get it ported and go ahead and waste another 4 hundred on the throttle body....It looks really good tho.....

I've seen people gain ligitmately 20rwhp, FAST LS3 102, NW 102 DBW TB. This was on 402ci with stock untouched
LS3 intake.

Even had one customer, install the intake (LSXR LS3), gain 10 rwhp, install the TB gained total of 19rwhp overall, using same dyno.

porting hasn't shown big gains on LSXR intakes

Is the same guy that was having problems when he fitted it? https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...-ls3-help.html

Sounds like something is not right.

I would look at the tune first, but generally on a LS3 we see 7-8hp and other 12 from the TB. So 20 all up.

For 20RWHP the $$$'s work. For 5/5 you can skip breakfast and go faster.

I wonder how it would work on a LS2 427?

The post is about LS3/L92 heads, not LS7.

The results you have seen sound more typical(12-20ish), here is what I have found

Unported:
Spectacle solutions: +15rwhp +15rwtq stone stock 2010 Camaro
Texas speed: +15hp +16tq on an LS3 engine dyno
Vengance: +12rwhp on an LS3 Corvette
My buddy: +12rwhp +11RWTQ on a stone stock G8 GT
My Truck: Feels much improved, I saved the GM LS3 intake for a back to back dyno session soon. Mine will be an A-B-A test.

Ported:

Texas Speed: Fasterproms tried to port the FAST and it lost to the stock LS3 intake after porting, maybe hes revised his port by now. From everything I have seen porting isnt helping the LSXR at this point either.

I didnt port mine, and wont.

I think this guy had a cylinder not firing.
