How about this, guys: I am interested in a set of wheels that are 18" x 9.5" with a 35mm offest. Would wheels this size/offset work OK with my car?
From the chart in the first post I may be 3mm off what is acceptable
My thinking is 3mm seems "close enough" but what do I know :shrug: Anyway, if anyone can help me out whether these wheels are OK or not, that would be great !
PS: Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Thanks for the help, Andy Yeah, I think the front wheels will stick out too far with the 35mm offset I believe I'd be OK out back, but the fronts would likely look weird. Oh well, I guess my cc balance gets a break for now

I was selling a set of 2 3rd gen camaro wheels and drag radials in the for sale section, and someone just pointed out to me that they may not work with LS1 brakes being bigger than the LT1 brakes on my car? I'm pretty sure the wheels are 15 x 8. Positive on the 15" 70% positive on the 8". The tire size is 275/50/15. Does anyone know if these would or would not fit over the LS1 brakes? Either because of the rim not being tall enough or maybe not being wide enough? I need to make sure before I let them go.

ok, i got a question....how do you calculate the amount (if any) that the wheel will stick out past the fender for a given offset?
for instance, i buy 17"x10" +50mm rims with 275/40R-17's on them for all 4 corners....what math do you use to see if that will stick out past the fender, and if so, by how much?
and am i correct in assuming that the higher the offset #, the farther it will be sticking out toward the outside of the car? (i.e., a +55mm offset will stick out further than a +50mm offset)

zr-1 i was wondering if there was anyone out there who was running 17x11 zr-1's on all four corners and had any problems, i'm putting them on an 02 ws6 with factory ride heigth. also i've read that a 275/40/r17 will fit but wont look that pretty, if this is so, what would be a suggested tire size. any help would be appreciated.

As for you example, on the 17" x 10" wheel with a 50 mm offset, it will fit fine.

+50 is correct. Some 315s are REALLY big and may rub, but highly doubtful if stock ride height. Youll be ok.

Question 2
18x9.5 Corvette Magnesium Rim. Regardless if the tire would fit under the rim or not, would a 305/?/18 or a 315/?/18 tire fit on these rims safely.
The reason that it does not matter is I am prepared to do the modifications to the wheel well to get the correct look, even it means tubbing the rear end.
If these tires will not fit these rims, can you tell me the maximum safe size for each.
