Long tube vs shorties on a lt1..
I hear that a lot, but so far i have only seen one unbiased dyno comparison. One had a benefit over the other in upper rpm ranges, one had about the same amount of benefit in the lower rpm ranges. I can't remember if lt's had the upper hand in upper or lower rpms.

There are plenty of people saying that one is better than the other, and I found one guy on a forum who posted up just dyno charts as proof. It showed about a 20 hp gain with lt's vs shorties. Then he later added "well, I also changed to 1.7 rr's and a cai and did some tuning" or something like that.
But I am talking about tests from an unbiased source. Anybody can post up a couple of dyno runs and say that one is this and one is that, but that's not proof in my mind. Proof means controlled testing by a source with nothing to prove.
I don't care which one is better. I installed shorties because I got a good deal on an uninstalled set and didn't want to deal with the clearance issues with lt's. I am not a shortie-lover....I just picked what worked out better for me. I shaved .17 off my qtr mile (corrected to sea level) so I'm happy. And I'm not trying to be a smart-***. I would just like to see more apples-apples testing as proof.
Edit: I would also like to see a rule established that no more "long-tubes vs shorties" threads get started. We have too many, and they all turn out just like this one.
LPPs have terrific ground clearance for HALF the price of Kooks.
