Set or remove stops?

I have a 99 Camaro Z28 and I am buying a Pro 5.0 from a friend of mine. My question is does my transmission have internal stops? Do I need to set the stops on the shifter or do I simply remove them? Thanks

Yeah Def set te stops on the shifter or youll be rebuilding your tranny in no time.

thanks, and why don't hurst shifters have built in stops?

its not a MUST unless your goin to be shifting like a ****, the B&M's come with them but say you dont have to use them unless your doing ALOT of hard driving. If their there keep up but its not like if you dont have them your tranny will blow up tommorow

The t-56 tranny's do have internal stops. I would still set the stops on the shifter as an added bonus, but you can do either.

I do like to shift hard at the strip (the Hurst T-Handle makes it way to tempting) so I'll just take the time to set the stops for added insurance, thanks for all the help
