ls2/ls7 clutch part numbers
I need a little help verifiying part numbers of what i need to swap to the ls2 flywheel and ls7 clutch. My clutch pedal is starting to stick when released and from my searches it seems like the slave cylinder should be the culprit. If I am going to replace it i am going to do it all. Could some one please verify the following numbers and parts i have found:
part / GM #
1 updated slave cylinder / 15046288
1 updated master cylinder / 12570277
1 ls2 flywheel / 12571611
1 ls7 clutch and pressure
plate kit / 24237690
-do I need to order a pilot bearing or should that be part of the clutch kit?
-do I need to order a throwout bearing or is that part of the slave cylinder?
anything else I am forgetting? I have priced these parts on gmpartsdirect and have come up with a price of $679.05 does that seem reasonable?
Sorry about all the questions I just want to make sure i am ordering the right stuff before i do this. Will also do the "drill mod" while i am in there
p.s. I just finished installing my ls7 clutch and i ******* love it, hope this helps ya some
Can I do the instal just with clutch, flywheel and the pilot bearing? Or I must use a new slave?
Thanks.
Hi there,
I really wouldn't ever do a clutch install on a Camaro without the slave
cylinder. Not only is the slave cylinder the hydraulic unit, that is
prone to problems, but it also houses the throw-out bearing.
Use part number 15046288 for the slave cylinder, 14061685 for the pilot
bearing and 12571611 for the flywheel, all under Chevrolet make.
Thanks,
Gene.

Planning to get the LS6 clutch right now. Thought about getting the LS7 but don't know where to get one for a reasonable price. MTI's LS6 Clutch is $450 and my car only pushes about 380 or so, maybe a few more at the flywheel.Got all the bolt ons along with a cam and PC programming from MTI. Got a LS1 2001 T/A w/52k miles.
Dont know if I should get the Slave and Master from O'reillys/Autozone for $91.99 each. LUK makes them. ALot cheaper than most places though.
Anyone bought these kind before??

Give them a call, they have this stuff also, and will usually match any other vendor pricing that is advertised.
SPEED inc has the ls2 fidanza alum flywheel for 395.99 weighing at 13lbs. when i am rerady to order clutch and everything i'm going to call SDPC or FBs and see if they will just switch the flywheels and add on the difference to the tag.
I wanted to use a SPEC pressure plate, both for the weight reduction and slight increase in pressure. I think that most of the partnumbers everyone has are for the pressure plate and disc together.
is this it? 24238412 ???
