GREAT no dipstick hole on ls2 block I installed --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Great got the new motor in and everything and no damn dipstick hole provision for my V, it was a gto take out but the damn gto oil pan had a provision already drilled out
the oil pan i use needs to have the block drilled out or something, GREAT!
idk what to do now, way too much of a PITA to take the whole subframe and motor out again

i have a ls2 gto, and i have pulled the motor, the dipstick hole is there, its in the factory location, but is is pluged, look on the passenger side of the motor, and look for like a tap or something like for the dipstick, and get a small screw driver and hammer and tap it out.

thanks for the reply, i know where the hole is i located it, but it does have a cap or some metal plug in it. I tried to use a flat blade screw driver to dig it out but no luck.
maybe one of the shops can respond on the best way to get that cap outta there. i was hoping i dont have to drill it out or something since there is no way in hell i can get a drill down there since the motor is in with all acessories on now.

Its a plug..like a old school freeze plug....You can knock it all the way out into the pan.....If you need pics of that im talking about pm me..I have a GTO ls2 sitting on a motor stand without a pan on it.

Its a small aluminium freeze plug.
Think of a U shaped cup.
You just need a steel instrument with a slight taper to it......like an ezy-out or even a small flat blade screwdriver or a hand file.
The taper on the instrument needs to contact inside the rim of the cup but not bottom out in the cup.
Tap the instrument so it bites into the inside rim of the cup and then rotate a little to break any seal. Then pull the instrument up with the cup stuck firmly to the end of it.
