You did download StopTech's fiting template, right? That could be of much more help when it comes to the proper dimensions for your custom brackets.

Just remember that even when this all seems to fit and it doesn't, you've just discovered the joys of modification.

Hmmm...

AFA what I have measured with concerns of the mounting position of the caliper and the friction ring offset, and with a comparison silhouette of the stock rotor, it appears that there is already an abundant amount of information to work from. Believe it or not, the template is actually very accurate. And just as a reminder statement, I believe that you desire to work off of the same if not similar design, since the price is still within what you consider reasonable (am I right?)

Also, the bracket is not really a whole complicated matter, if you are working off of specifications that are similar to the template.

Seems like you are already you're very close to achieving your goal. I don't think the bracket should be a whole lot of trouble to fabricate.

nope that bracket is very simple.. we have made a "sort of" temporary out of a soft block of aluminum (easier to work with and dremel) but like i said i cant make a final until we have the correct rotor..

Anyone know the specs of the GTO rotors? I know they use a bigger brake combo and have thicker caliper's.

Just for fun and sheer boredum the other night.. we bolted on the Corvette rotor with a 3/4" adapter.... boy is that bad.. wheel sticks out WAY to far (as i knew it would) but i just wanted to see it.. almost looked like a honda with slicks on the front. Anyways, the quest for the rotor continues..

I guess you're all set then. Keep us updated.

You might want to fall back on the stoptech rotor if your other options fail, or...

coleman racing (which is only a few bucks cheaper, with the specs I consulted them about, however it's best to use the order form from the catalogue).

Brembo uses essentially these same calipers on dozens of cars also including the Viper, Ferrari 360 etc.

The calipers are offered with differed piston sizes but most importantly Brembo also makes unique casting for each specific OEM to accommodate each bolt mounting scheme required.

That really doesn’t matter since were using the CTS-V calipers, but as you can see from the CTS-V calipers the bolt locations could prove to be quite problematic in adapting these if not impossible.

The aftermarket version of these caliper all use the Viper mounting scheme which offers much more freedom of mounting the calipers for each specific application on the spindle via the custom brackets.

Basically if the bolt-hole distances on the CTS-V calipers overlap too closely with those on the spindle, they cannot be adapted.

I really hope I’m wrong about this but I’m unable to confirm either way as I do not have access to actually measure the CTS-V calipers.

PS.

I also contacted Brembo about a part # for the CTS-V calipers and they gave me the one seen in the attached schematic (20.5187.30 L / 20.5187.30 R). As you can see they are clearly different.

I got bored tonight at work and went through the brembo brake rotor catalog (stock replacement) and looked at all the dimensions and stuff. I don't know the bolt pattern on these, all I know is that they are 5 lug and what they fit. There are only 5 part numbers that come close measurement wise...here they are (height listed is measured from outside of hat to rear side of friction surface):

2004 Audi A8: diameter=360mm, thickness=31mm, height=60
1992-95 Ferrari 512: diameter=315, thickness=30, height=61.7
1993-98 Ferrari 456: d=315, th=30, h=61.7
1996-98 Ferrari 550 Maranello: d=330, th=30, h=60.7
2003-04 Mercedes E55 AMG, SL55 AMG, SL600: d=360, th=34, h=64.5

Those are the closest I could find out of EVERY car that had dimensions relative to what was discusses earlier in this thread.

Check my dimensions on the rotors I posted above...those are the ONLY production car rotors that come close.

This is alittle different but what about getting some blank rotors without the wheel stud holes drilled and drilling them to our spacing pattern. It really cant be that hard to trace it off of an f-body rotor and its not like the hole has to be peeerrrfffect. Almost any rotor has about 1/32-1/8 slop back and forth. The real holding of the rotor is from the wheel torqued down. Just think about it!!!!

you didnt read a thing then if you are suggesting this..

its not the bolt pattern.. its the thickness of the mounting part of the HUB of the rotor.. you know the offset of the rotor, (how far it pushes the wheel away from the rotor itself).. it has NOTHING to do with bolt pattern

I do apprecite your hard work and effort into this topic and I appolgize for missing that. I did read your post, I think a total of three times just trying to figure it out. Hell I even think about it while driving to work and want to figure out the one way to make it work. If you would like I will keep my ideas to myself and just wait for someone to get it, or I can bounce them off of you when I come up with something.

I will keep on thinking of things.

Thank You

just need to find a rotor that is 13"+ and has the correct backspacing... yes custom is a way to go but i would rather explore factory rotors before going custom.. because the custom rotors would be close to 250$+ each..

How is it the C6 Z06 can fit a 6 piston caliper without changing the rotor offset from that used on the other vette models?

Is it all in the rim and spoke clearance?

im not positive, but from a visual the C6 Z06 6 piston it looks about the same width as the one's from a V, so it should fit where a C6 Z06 fits, but I would have to guess it's in the rim and spoke clearance like you said... im kinda curious on this now

The reason I ask is because I'm considering running the regular C6 rims in 19x10 all around and they have a 55mm offset. That tucks the rim in quite a bit, plus I have 1* of camber which tucks the top of the tire in more. Even before considering running a 4 piston front caliper I was already thinking I might get longer studs and run a 15mm hub-centric spacer just to push it out more for a more aggressive stance. I'm wondering if the CTS-V calipers would clear that? They just might.

Having the CTS-V 4 piston calipers mounted on 14" Z06 rotors would be awesome! I don't think I'd need to upgrade them any more.
