Post 99 T/A shop car, 9.7's@ 134 N/A

We'll, I've decided that its time to finish an old project and I need to sell my 99 Trans Am in order to do so. I run a garage in Mount Airy NC called Tick Performance. I absolutely love this car, but I could use the money to get out of debt as well as finish up our 68 camaro that we've been working on for a while. The car has gone a best of 9.73 @ 134 mph in the 1/4 at Rockingham dragway. This was done on 93 octane pump gas, 325 MT drag radials, and naturally aspirated. The best 60 ft. to date has been a 1.26 however the norm is 1.29-1.31. Heres a rundown of what has been done to the car, I'm sure I'll leave a lot out so anyone that may be interested please post up any questions or shoot me a pm.

Engine

434 cubic inch LS1 with darton sleeves done by RED
Callies Racemaster 4.000 crank
Callies compstar rods
Weisco forged dished pistons
C5R heads
Custom SB2.2 intake modified with adapters to work with the heads
Jesel 1.95 ratio rockers
254 / 260 @ .050" dur. 754 / .760" lift solid roller comp cam
Kooks 1 7/8 stepped to 2" race headers
1550 cfm accufab tb
Evans coolant water pump and t-stat
ASP crank pulley
aproximately 11.5:1 compression

PCM tuned flawlessly by Alvin Anderson @ PCMforless
Car dynoed 551 rwph, 440 rwtq through the mufflers and stall unlocked. I can only guess what it would make through a 6 speed, but it would be atleast a 100 hp gain. When tuning on the dyno, the software wouldn't even pick up the signal until around 5800 rpms due to the loose stall.

Fuel system

Aeromotive A1000 pump
-10 fuel feed
High flow rails
Aeromotive pressure regulator
factory tank with bulkhead fitting installed
Motron 60 lb/hr injectors

Suspension

BMR boxed LCA's
Spohn drag race anti-sway bar
Spohn adj. panhard
Spohn body mounted torque arm (chrome moly)
BMR tubular k-member with tubular upper and lower arms
QA1 coilovers and springs up front, gen F
Madman Save your *** bars

Drivetrain

Moser 12 bolt w/ 4.10 gears, eaton posi, 33 spline axles, abs option, performance cover
Mark Williams CM driveshaft
TCI th350 transmission with various lightened components and 2.75 first gear
RCI trans blanket
TCI 4400-4800 8" stall converter
B&M pro stick shifter fit into the factory console

Interior

Wolfe 10 pt. weld in cage through the dash
5 pt. harnesses for driver and passenger
Factory tan leather seats with functional power adjustment
MSD shift light
Ozite custom lightweight carpet that actually looks factory

Weight reduction

No: P/S
ABS
Cruise control
A/C
Heater
Front bumper modified
rear bumper deleted
door bars removed
VFN 5" pin on hood
No radio or speakers
No wipers

as it stands, the car weighs 3350 with me in it so that would make the car itself weight about 3180. It still has the factory brakes all around, the factory rack, and the factory master cylinder/booster. There is another 100 lbs easily that could be removed.

Basically the interior looks completely stock with exception of the cage and no rear seat and no radio. Everything is very clean, seats are in excellent condition, the dash looks factory, and theres a nice delete plate covering the hole that once housed the radio. The paint on the outside is all original with exception of the rear bumper, which is now a formula style cover. This happened after a little mishap when the original stock bottom end let go.

Right now the only things that the car really needs is for the hood to be painted (it has never been painted) and the speedo needs to be wired to one of the front wheel sensors. It was run at Rockingham just a couple of weeks ago for the Pinks All Out event and went a 10.02 @134 on the bumper with a 1.42 sixty foot on the rear tires:

We also ran the car at Englishtown last October for the GMHTP shootout where it ran a 9.83 and was the quickest N/A car there that day. That was the first track outing ever with the current engine. That article should be in the next issue to hit the stands.

As it stands, the odometer shows somewhere around 76,000 I believe, however the actual mileage is probably somewhere around 80,000.

I have invested over $50,000 easily into this car, and that is parts alone. All the work was done by my father and I with exception of the engine which was purchased on here from DAPSUPRSLO. It was originally built for him by Eric Koenig / Horse Power Engineering. The engine alone would cost around $18k to duplicate, and it has less than 50 passes on it and probably around 1,000 street miles. The car can be seen at our shop at anytime, and driven around the block. I have most of the parts that were removed, and will include them with the car including the rear seats.

Heres a video of the pass at Rockingham:

and another 1/8 mile pass, 6.14 @ 110 mph:

I'm asking $30,000 OBO-Serious offer only please.
The shop number is 336-783-0003, my cell is 336-428-7998

Can't believe you are selling Jonathon!! Anyways guys, i have known Jonathon for awhile and this car has always been very impressive. Keep in mind also our home track here in NC is 800' above sea level so the car would run even better at a track like Atco or Cecil now thats its dialed in very well.

As Charlie said, I have decided to keep the car at this point. The engine is currently out of the car due to a lifter failure which also ruined the cam. I would still sale the car for the asking price of $27500 but I am not really trying to sell it anymore, therfore the price is firm. There are a couple of pics in the current issue (Aug. 2007) of GMHTP starting on page 30 for those who are interested.
