HID's On My WS6?
HID's On My WS6? I'm looking to buy HID's on my 2001 WS6. I know some companies are offering the composite housing for them, and I've even seen a company selling them as a complete kit with the HID's. I just can't seem to find someone offering just the housings for my car
. I simply need to know, where to get just the housings, and what size housing I need. If any one has done it and has some tips for me, please let me know. I'm trying to have this done soon, cause I just blew my low beam and I really don't wanna buy a new head light when I'm just going to put HID's in anyway. So please let me know....

Might want to also consider retrofitting in a projector for proper light output.

I'm really not interested into putting in a projector....just a square housing to plug HID's into....I just need to know what size housing will fit it. Possibly a 4x6?
Ur gonna **** some people off on the road. Leave that crap to ricers. If u just want the cool/blueish look go with some Silverstar Ultras.
HID's **** people off now? I regaurdless what you think, I like the way they look and I know people that feel the same. I simply want to know what size housing fits in my car. It was a simple question, but apparently, it's too "ricer" to be done.....

All I was trying to do was persuade you to take the most beneficial and safest route of pursuing this upgrade. But if you're not concerned about any of that then at least aim your lights down low so they don't blind other drivers as bad. Read that thread that I posted a link to. Gives you all the info you need.

I've seen them on 2 other 4th gens, and they look great. They give you a LOT more light, so yeah, you might want to aim them down. The headlights I'm using are 10,000K color temperature, and I think that's perfect.
i love HID's on any car...well not like ricers and that sort of stuff, but it just makes clean cars look that much cleaner... if i am driving down the highway and out of all the yellow headlights, one bright *** set of bluish-whitish lights start coming, i have to see what kind of car it is... the headlights look so clean you are expecting the car to be bad ***... or at least i am
I've seen that LEDGauges have them, I just need to know if they sell the housing by themselves, and I would like to get a descent housing, but I have done ebay searching and haven't found any as of yet. If someone knows of a site with them, please let me know.

BTW, I have Hella 90mm H9 projectors on my car using the provided Halogen Osram H9 bulbs and they are much brighter than stock.

I ran with just the hella projectors for a while, and the included lamps were good, and about a 75% improvement over the stock lamps, Once I installed the HID's they were better, but the bank for the buck certainly comes from the 90mm projectors, as even with non HID's it was a good improvment.

My brother and I made new/better cut-off for them too which improved them even more. I don't have a full range of photos for the new cut-off yet, but a quick preview photo is in the Lighting FAQ.

The K number is the color temp. It is not the brightness (well not directly, I'll explain). 4000K - 5000K is the brightest. Continuing up the color scale, the light gets bluer then purpler and the lumen output (the actual measurement of light) decreases. In other words, a 10000K HID kit is dimmer than a 4300K HID kit. Our eyes are least sensitive to blue light. Blue light also scatters more easily. In the end, we can see better with a 4300K HID kit for many reasons.
I browsed throught the lighting FAQ and didn't see anything that was related to my question. I simply want to know where I can get a "rectangular" housing that will fit in the facotory spot that would hold a bulb (such as an HID bulb) I really don't care what bulb it takes, I just need something so I don't end up using the ones I have now and just pulling the bulbs out the back and use silicone to hold in the HID's.....
