Motor has about 1000 miles on it, also with a new 9" installed at the same time. Fuel pressure is fine as the AFR is pretty dead on, and last run i believe had 28* of timing. I am throwing a code or 2, 1 being a misfire that i believe to be my drivers side o2(awaiting my extension to install new o2), and egr code, and maybe a TPS code(p0121).

im thinking theres more there with more of a break in and some more tuning(something broke so we had to quit for the night), my tire pressure was pretty damn low, weather was about 88*, ~56% humidity, and ~30.07 barometric pressure(i think)

help....

http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j3...tvscatback.jpg
Compression is at 11.3:1. 28* was where it peaked with the limited runs we got, i believe 29/30 it didnt like and lost a few hp top. the initial base run was at 23* of timing and we went up degree or 2 each time from there. FAST 90/90, Kooks 1-7/8", Rumbler X w/Bullets, Moser 9" w/ 4.30's

NEW numbers 494rwhp, 448rwtq SAE

i have been doing some digging/etc and have some more thoughts to add.

1. im starting to question the camshaft it "burps, pops, and sputters" down low. i've had 3 tuners look at it, and its not the tune like mentioned in that thread. i know its a big cam and it'll chop, but its not acting right in certain areas of the powerband. i have to think with similar issues with very similar cams, it just might be a design flaw.

2. Another issue is i think my heads weren't worked to give me the compression that it was supposed to have. this motor was designed around the 11.3:1 CR from the get go(hence the nitrous pistons). what makes me think this is, even after all was fixed, codes, tune, and the exhaust...its still at or sub 500rw. i went back and checked my paperwork, and it doesnt mention anything about working the 72cc heads to achieve 11.3:1. Someone locally and i have discussed all this and we seem to think my compression is around 9.6:1...which kind of explains 20-30 missing rwhp.

these heads and this cam have never been touched, the longblock came assembled, timing chain on, heads bolted down, and cam installed and degreed.

on an unrelated note, we also discovered that the moser 9" i ordered was mysteriously sent with 4.30's instead of the 4.10's i asked for. and moser pretty much doesnt care, im still dealing with that but needless to say they'll never get another penny from me with all the hassle im going through.

This was on the second pull. I know it says run 17 and up, but its a customers car that we had dynoed before, we're still on the same run file. It made 510 on the first pull. Hasnt even been broke in yet.
This vehicle is an on going experiment in cam design, as well as some other goodies.
For instance, we've come up with a combo to run yella terras on the ETP and RHS heads. With virtually PERFECT geometry. If anyone is interested gimme a pm.
Special thanks goes out to my good buddy Shane (1997bird on here) from Precision Systems, out of New Mexico.
Will update first post when I get a chance. Not sure what heads they are running (maybe ETPs or RHS)

Now, the best part is this also helps everyone else out there trying to understand the new L92/L76 head and intake combo. So here it is. A break down of the car first. AND No its not Flywheel power.

99 f-body.
iron 408
11.5 CR
L92 heads, touched up exhaust.
L76 intake with UMI 90mm TB.
American Racing 1 7/8th long tubes with no cats.
Corsa catback with extra magnaflow muffler in the I-pipe for sound reasons.
42lb injectors
Ford 9inch
3.5" driveshaft.
6-speed car.
Mcloud twin disc.

This should cover most of what you need.

I am going to give out cam specs today to help other understand how simple and tame this combo is.

Cam specs. 230/242 116+2 LSA .590/.578

Customers goals where simple, TQ all the time, and fun to drive. I will admit, I wanted more powerband, but thats the great thing about trial and error, so the next cam will fit the bill even more. Enjoy.

Rick
Very strong...next post is with a cam swap but same set up. Love that torque.

Default Procharged 408

Max HP is coming at just shy of 5500 rpm and despite boost still climbing, the HP just gives out and flat lines. Max TQ 702.5 comes on at 4532 Rpm. I am presuming my CARB approved exhaust has reached its limits...

In any case not spinning the motor past 6500, P1SC-1 putting out 13psi.

That is all the goodies. I'm thinking of switching to YT ultralites and a cam swap for some more power under the curve and to bring the SCR up.

Nice results with the swap to the smaller 1 3/4 headers.

I'm currently running a nitrous tune, but only by way of timing as it is 22* at peak tq and 24* in the upper rpm's.

The car has made a best of 524whp/497wtq through 3.90's and an M-12 tranny(Z06).

My best pass to date was set at +2,500 DA.....

1.640
4.574
6.979
101.79
9.046
10.769
131.50

It has gone faster(mph), but this is my best et. I did correct this run for the DA and it came out to a 10.52 @ 134.669
Nice set up. 524/497

Through a T56 and Stock 10-Bolt this car put down 576 RWHP & 504 FT. LBS.

The sound of this car through the cut-out is just wicked!

Another 408 that was just finished at G-Force here in Houston. Still has 10 bolt but is 4.10 gears so it might have made 580+ with stock gears.

Nice numbers Erik. Most of the motors you guys build really produce unless they have some suboptimal parts like: stock heads, LS6 intake, or a head/cam combo that is not optimized. Thanks for posting.

L92 combos listed in this thread from most to least HP...I wonder if the L76 intake is the restriction in these results which are not bad though.
