Guy in the LT1 was a pretty good driver. 01 Cobra kept up better than I thought it would.

Nice vids, i've seen them before. I thought the 01 cobra would do a little better myself but whatever. The fox needs some different gears!

It depends on what the LT1 had done. When I FIRST got my 99 Cobra I had a LT1 T/A behind me and we kicked it from a 4 way stop and he about jumped in my back seat. Them old pos motors can be pretty strong with not too much done!

IMO a 96-01 Cobra needs 4.30 gears at minimum. The Mach 1's can get away with 4.10s but not the top end happy Cobras.

In 1996 I got my LT1 car into the high 12's in Denver with bolt ons and a tune. A lot of dialing the suspension. Six speed car and I banged the hell out of it. I had a 77 Z28 at the same time that was faster and easier to get down the track so I raced it more often. It ran low 11's and probably would of ran 10's at a more acceptable altitude. When you start at 5900 feet and its 95 degrees and the humidity is 46% the DA is ****.

Good runs... tell the owner of that Cobra (if you know him) to open up his exhaust a bit. A good set of LTs and exhaust makes a big different

LOL! mods on my boys 144K lt1 include: Mail order hypertech chip, K+N cold air, midlength headers, offroad y (has cat but gutted to pass emissions), and mac catback w/ cutout, spec clutch. He removed the entire A/C system, rear seats, bumper supports. It has stock 3.42 gears, and when the optispark isn't an issue runs harder than most people believe.

Good runs. That's about what I'd expect, except for the 01 Cobra (thought would be a bit closer). Fox needs better gears.
