To the original topic: Considering? Hell yes. I'm more than considering. My dealership has got my reservation slip and everything. They didn't make promises, but I could specify engine (V8, V6) Transmission (M6 or Auto6), and color (to the best of their knowledge, just basics such as black, blue, red, silver, etc). And I 'ordered' or 'reserved' a V8, Black M6. I'll be selling my o7 Monte Carlo SS for it, as well as my V6 Mustang. I've waited for this Camaro since 1999. No way am I letting it slip by. Besides, look around. We have ALL sorts of Camaros from 1989 - 2002 still driving around, still strong. In another 25 years I still plan on having my Camaro, as well as several more.

I voted no based on GM's lack of quality and attention to detail seen in the C6 'vette and their past production sports cars. If GM wants more of my money (besides the tons of parts I buy to repair my current GM with, which thankfully the dealership sells me wholesale +10% because SUPRISE! I am a frequent customer.), then they are going to have to do 3 things:

Make a $60K car look, and feel like one, this means no more C6's that look like poor front-end repair shops botched the job.

Keep the weight down, they are doing a GREAT job of this with the 'vettes, the Camaro, it remains to be seen, the GTO? Full of fail.

Create an F-body without weakpoints (10-bolt, ect.)

If they can meet those 3 points, I will consider it, but I think the first point is what will get them. I have yet to see a C6 'vette which had all it's body-panels lined up and no trash in the paint. Kia offers the same to better fit/finish down the road for 40K less, minus driveline.

Handling? If you want handling, buy an import, namely the new Skyline which drug the Z06 around the track by a 5-second margin. Along with the 911 TT Carrera (which had to really hurt Porsche's feelings!)

I see 00000000 is once more wailing about how he made the wrong decision. If you read his posts, you see how it really is. He talks up his mustang out of self pity.

Yea I'd hate to have bought a new mustang, with older less expensive cars owning the **** out of it. Everyone who has a new mustang always talks about the "quality". Funny, when I test drove one where was the quality? Was it in the dash guages that are hard to see because of the retro POS cluster? Was it in the already cracking pleather seats? Was it in the weak *** powerplant? Sir, where is this quality!!!!!! I'd rather buy a 350Z than a new mustang. I'd be going just as fast, and have an actual "quality" argument vs an F-body.
