G8 in bad weather????

G8 in bad weather???? I was thinking about getting this car s a DD but I am unsure of how it will handle in the snow and ice. Being a rwd car I think it would be a bad idea. Does anyone have any exp with this???
with traction control, all season tires and all the gadgets it'll be fine. I drive my truck without BARELY ever using 4wd during the winter with no problems. I have the stepside regular cab so it's not a heavy truck by any means and no issues. Just take it easy until your comfortable and you'll be ok.

so far this car has been awesome in the rain. its my DD and i drive in rain all the time. its got summer only tires and i plan on driving it in the winter as well. i live in NJ so its not too bad. car has awesome traction. You can floor it from 1,500 RPM and doesnt even chirp. 4,000 lbs, stability control, awesome brakes, you should be fine. go for it. you wont regret buying this amazing car

The SS starts just under $30K, much like the 08 G8. The SS only has 303hp, gets same fuel economy, and IMO very ugly. And it comes with a 4 speed auto and interior look slike Rubbermaid put it together.

^^^ i agree and although i like the Impala SS's they are JUNK compared to the G8. The '04+ Grand Prix's are HORRIBLE in the snow without really good winter tires and the impala's are built on the same chasis and suspension is the same crap. My Stepmom has an '04 and my best friend HAD a '04 Comp G and they suck in the snow. I'd say you'll be just fine in the snow with a G8

Somehow the general populace managed to survive in the 60's and 70's with only RWD cars. I'm sure you'll be fine. I drove a Crown Vic in a couple of bad winters. Throw in some sand bags and get some good tires.

Most of them had the tire chains too. I know we dont get that much snow but the times we do it just makes me wonder. I would guess the cts's would be near the same in weather right???

As a kid in the 70's in IA I don't remember seeing many cars with chains. The only vehicle we had with chains was the truck my dad would use when he HAD to get to work and travel was not advised (Policeman). The troopers around here still drive Vics with weight in the trunks and seem to manage. Sure FWD would be better, but RWD isn't helpless. When I had my old retired cop car I went through some nasty winters with it. Just keep your head and drive carefully.
