Going old school !!
Well everyone should know by now that I've said good by to the "Tomato" project and moved on.......
I’ve always had a thing for early second gens, back in the day (1980 - before many of you were either born or out of diapers) my brother bought a 73 Z/28 and he used to take me for beat runs. Nothing like being 11 and seeing the tach @ 5500 and the speedo at 120 barking down the highway. Man that was fun….. anyway back in 1998 when I got back into cars and drag racing I had wanted to get a 70-73 Z/28 but found the “Tomato” and was impatient so I got it and have dumped many a hard working dollar into it, well after finally getting tired of it and not having the time to work on it or go racing as often as I’d like I decided to get more of an all around car that I always wanted, something that I can still drag race but also hit the auto X and more importantly drive on the street ……So I picked up a 1973 Z/28
I got it about a week ago and have been removing the redneck stuff ever since (I still have to remove the homemade window tint).
Currently it has an old school sbc 350 w/ dart heads, weiand intake, holly carb, TH350 and yes a distributor!!
I’m going to be putting my 4L60E into it from the “Tomato” and hooking up with Vinny and Dean (www.860performance.com and www.dynotunenitrous.com ) to get an NX kit and accessories to ram a 150 shot down its throat.
This should cure what ails it until I can get some time to find either an LS-1 or LS-2 that I can put into it. Other future mods are full suspension upgrades (currently sits way too high for me) and a bear brake package. New rims / tires are a must also.
Hey, what can I say, I got tired of waiting for GM to build me a new Camaro so I’ll do it myself!!
Things to be ordered immediately are a front air dam and a Z/28 emblem for the rear spoiler.
This car is a true Z/28.
Thanks to Andrew for hosting some pics for me.

P.S. It sounds rather horny

Thanks guys,
I'm pretty physched about it.
Figures it's another red one huh?
The interior is in pretty good shape as well, trunk and door jams are good.
The car is pretty solid although it is a cold blooded beast.
My84Z,
I kinda felt bad pushing the Tomato outside but something had to go to make room for the "Tomato Part Duex"

Sweet Marc
You have to take me for a spin in that when i come up there. I had a 1979 Z28 those cars are so much funny espically with the new motors and tranny.
Does that have traction bars?

Thanks, I think you'll like the car when you come up to get your 12 bolt.

What are you saying will ruin the "whole" car? The fact that it has an LSx in it's future? Marc bought this car becuase it's something he's always wanted and I can gaurantee it will be driven like it was meant to be. I'm sure he'd rather take a hit on it in the future instead of letting it sit stock in the garage.
