Default CA exhaust ?'s

So I live in California and im lookin to go with LT headers and possibly a TD setup. Ive heard people say there is now way to pass smog if i have LT'S....Is this true? If so how hard would it be to put the stock exhaust back on?

Also I have been reading a lot about headers lately and I know that QTP or Kooks are most often the favorite, but how much of a difference is there between Pacesetter ceramic coated headers and say Kooks headers? It just seems like droppin a grand for some headers is a lil bit much

thanks for all the info

You cant pass the visual part of te test....

Putting the stoks back on would be as as hard as it was to get them off...then test..then put your LT's back...wait two years..repeat

you cant run mid-length headers in california! any header has to have a CARB sticker and if it doesnt then you cant pass smog! Only shorties are legal in california!

Your best bet is to go with the longtubes then find somebosy that will look past the longtubes and then you will pass if you have cats! without cats most likey you wont pass a regular sniffer test!

I have those exact same shorties. They are not mid lengths. The stock location of the the cats never moves. This is why they are C.A.R.B. approved.

None the less I wish I could run long tubes . These smog laws are just ridiculous.

My bad. I did not realize you had a '93. But your headers are shorties and not midlengths.

I drive a '99 and they say that my shorties are midlengths. They are not. It is just an advertising ploy.

There are no pics of the "mid lengths" for your year. I am going to see if I can find some pics

I am trying to get more info since I thought '93 manifolds looked like this:

If your manifolds look like this, I just assumed that the cats would be right under the merge connectors.
