Camaro and Firebird 1990-2002: How to Replace Side Mirror

The side mirrors on your Camaro or Firebird can be the reason you avoid an accident. If you break a side mirror somehow, replacing it can be done right at home for a lot cheaper than if you go to an auto shop. This guide will assist you in removing your old side mirror and installing a new one in place. So order your new mirror, then read on to learn how to install it.

Materials Needed

  • Flathead screwdriver
  • Socket
  • New side mirror

Step 1 – Remove plastic cover

Remove the plastic cover on the inside of the mirror. You can use your flathead screwdriver to pry it off gently.

Step 2 – Remove side mirror

Using your socket, remove the three screws holding the mirror in place. Then pull the mirror straight out. Unplug the electrical harness if your car is equipped with electrical mirrors.

Step 3 – Install new mirror

Align the new mirror in place, then tighten the three screws holding it in place. Plug in the electrical harness if you have one, then put the cover back in place.
