Unbeatable Combination

While we certainly have our fair share of modern classics to choose from, there's just something undeniable special about a cool old muscle car that's simply hard to beat. Case in point - this amazing 1970 Chevy Chevelle, which was recently featured in a video from YouTuber AutotopiaLA. With classic looks and a modern drivetrain, it's a simply unbeatable combination in our book.

Like Father

This particular restomod was built by Jesus of Lopez Performance, who just so happens to be the son of Gabe from Gabe's Custom Interiors, another amazing custom car builder with rides routinely featured at SEMA. The apple certainly doesn't fall far from the tree in the case of this family, as we can see from this understated yet amazingly detailed Chevelle.

Specific Request

The owner of the car had just a few simple requests for the build - "I want a badass car, but I want to drive it," he told Jesus. "I want to clean up all the lines - nothing crazy." Thus, that's precisely what Jesus did, as this Chevelle still looks very much like a Chevelle, with an extra dose of badass - mainly under the hood.

Beefy Cruiser

That came in the form of a modern LS2 powerplant fitted with a Magnuson supercharger that cranks out around 550 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque. Since this is a cruiser and not a race car, it also rides on a Rytek air ride suspension to soak up all the bumps and give the owner his choice of stance while also allowing him to clear speed bumps and steep driveways.

Beautifully Framed

The engine bay is a work of art as well, painted to match the gray exterior with some bronze elements to complement the hue present on the wheels. Throw in the carbon fiber supercharger, and you've got one classy housing for that LS2 that'll make you want to pop the hood and show it off on a regular basis.

Perfect Contrast

On the outside, Jesus kept things simple by just shaving the drip rails and hammering the body to perfection before covering it in that understated gray color. The bronze wheels - Vossen S2-01s that measure in at 20 inches up front and 21 inches in the rear - provide just the right amount of contrast.

Exceptional Build

Throw in an equally gorgeous custom interior that looks like something you'd see in a brand new car, and this classic Chevelle is truly an exceptional build. But that's what we've come to expect from this family, which has cranked out some of the finest restomods on the planet over the last few years.
