Ringbrothers At it Again

Few companies in the automotive world possess the restomod prowess of Ringbrothers, and their latest creation, the 'Raskal,' is a testament to their craftsmanship. This 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer, meticulously restored and customized, stands as one of their most impressive projects yet.

A Blend of History and Modernity

Restoring and modifying a classic like the K5 Blazer requires a delicate touch, and Ringbrothers executed it flawlessly. Over 2,800 hours were invested to ensure that the 'Raskal' retained its character while offering modern performance and style. Mike Ring, co-founder of Ringbrothers, emphasized that this build was about enhancing the K5's original spirit rather than chasing numbers.

Revamped Exterior

The 'Raskal' received a stunning exterior makeover. The quarter panels and tailgate were raised to match the door height, and door handles were relocated to the top for a sleeker profile. The original hardtop and glass were replaced with a bespoke two-piece aluminum canopy, preserving the open-top experience. Finished in Ringbrothers' proprietary BASF Glasurit Waterborne paint, the 'Bashful Blue' hue adds to its allure.

Power and Performance

Under the carbon fiber hood, the 'Raskal' packs a punch with a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine from Wagner Motorsports, delivering 430 horsepower and 425 lb-ft of torque. Power is transmitted through a Bowler Tru-Street GM automatic transmission. To handle this newfound grunt, a custom RS4 chassis from Roadster Shop, Currie Dana 44 front, Dana 60 rear axles, and a new triangulated four-link suspension with Fox Racing coilovers were integrated. Baer brake calipers ensure confident stopping.

Luxurious Cabin Transformation

Inside, no detail was overlooked. Custom seats, bespoke dashboard bezels, and Dakota Digital gauges elevate the interior. Steve Pearson at Upholstery Unlimited added his touch to the upholstery, creating a cabin that blends modern amenities like climate control and a sound system with classic charm.

A Visionary Approach

Ringbrothers' 'Raskal' project embodies their philosophy of exploring the essence of each vehicle and enhancing its character. Co-founder Jim Ring described it as a tribute to the K5 Blazer's adventurous spirit—a vehicle designed to have fun, cause mischief, and go anywhere. As with all Ringbrothers creations, the 'Raskal' is a blend of artistry, engineering, and a deep appreciation for automotive history.
